Subject: A "Maturing Life Work" Thought - July21, 2008

Like Fine Wine, Life Gets Better with Age

This title will have special appeal if you’re over 50, male or female, in the workforce and feeling you’re still on the

upward curve of life. ‘Experienced’, ‘wise’, ‘seasoned’ are all adjectives which increasingly you would like used to describe you.

You also feel young and still growing, as you continue to blossom towards your far-from-fulfilled potential.

The facts show you can expect to:

·         live for another 30 years or more, and

·         have greater prospects of staying healthy for most of those years.

Retirement is no longer a time to ‘stop working and start dying’.  The later years of life are now opening up

as a time to enjoy “a second adulthood”, seeing opportunities to express yourself in ways you always

wanted to but felt life wouldn’t let you. Increasingly the fear of retiring is being replaced with the joy of maturing.

But, like the fine wine, your potential is meaningless if it’s left in the bottle, untasted.

Make your second adulthood a time to enjoy the fruits of your living to the very last drop.
