Humorous Poetry
Issue # 80
March 14, 2004

Hi Friends,

These may not be the choicest pick in fun,
But I love these little poems by Emily Dickinson.

I'm Nobody! Who are you?
--------------------------
Stumbled across this poem and enjoyed myself.
http://www.cs.rice.edu/~ssiyer/minstrels/poems/711.html

Hope
------
The stumbling reminded me to search for an
Emily Dickinson poem about hope.
What made me do that ?
Woody Allen ...
"How wrong Emily Dickinson was! Hope is not
'the thing with feathers'. The thing with feathers
has turned to be my nephew. I must take him to
a specialist in Zurich." ... in Without Feathers.

I'm glad I found it. But I doubt I'll be able to ever read
it without a smile on my face!

The Grass so little has to do -
----------------------------------
Could I be grass in my next life ? ;)

Split the Lark
----------------
Definitely not Light Verse. But I enjoyed it and
the discussion on allusions below the poem.
