Humorous Poetry
Issue #36
Saturday, May 10, 2003

Hi Friends,

Your poetic wz-ard Gunjan
will do anything for some fun.
He seems to have a screw loose,
as is obvious from his clerihews !

The clerihew is a bit of rhyming doggerel invented by
Edmund Clerihew Bentley (1875-1956). Traditionally,
it's a four-line verse made up of two rhyming couplets,
with meter intentionally (often ridiculously) irregular. Its
purpose is to offer a satiric or absurd biography of a
famous person.

Clerihews by Dean Zimmerman
--------------------------
This is how Dean introduces his site - "I've wasted an
inordinate amount of time on the lowest verse form in
existence, the Clerihew. Here's the cream or the dregs,
depending on how you look at it."

Philosophical Clerihews by Ronald de Sousa

A few more gems ;-)

Clerihews in T-Town
------------------------
Results for a clerihew contest that visits Hollywood.
Some of the the Clerihews are a wee bit cheesy but then
what do you expect when reading about hollywood stars.
Some masterpieces ensured that I couldn't leave out this
collection.
