Allah and Elohim - Are they the same God? Book

Editorial
By Sherly Isaac

Every passing day we are being pushed towards eternity. How many of us are really concerned about it? Nobody knows when the end of our lives will come, but obviously it will come sooner or later for young or old alike. Are we prepared to face that day?

Once my brother was very sick. He had high fever and small boils started showing up on his body. Seeing that he was having high fever and as boils have appeared my mom got scared and we went to our family doctor's house. But she was on vacation. Not knowing what to do, we inquired in medical shop whether there was any good doctor nearby. He told us about one across the road in the newly established colony. I and my mom walked in smoldering heat to find help. The doctor was at home and told us that he had just come back from hospital and so he needed half an hour to have his lunch and come to our house. We said OK.

In the morning one of dad's friends came to our house and told us to call Jesus Calls prayer tower for prayers as one person met with accident and was in the hospital in a very serious condition. When my brother called, there was one of his friends who picked up the phone. He prayed with great burden for that person and for my brother. By the time the doctor came and looked at my brother, boils had started to subside but he still had high fever. And Doctor got confused. He said, "it looks like chickenpox but if he has chickenpox, the boils would have not subsided in one day." Anyway, he wrote some medicines and left our house. In a few days my brother got completely healed.

A few weeks later we heard that the doctor had massive heart attack and that he died immediately. When we heard about him, we felt very sorry that he came to help us and we did not even share about the love of Jesus to him. Also we never knew that he was so close to death.

Last year when I came to know that Peter Jennings (former News anchor of ABC) was diagnosed with lung cancer, no one knew that he will die within three months. One day God told me to contact Peter Jennings and tell him about salvation through Jesus Christ. I said, "Lord it is impossible to contact him." Because I tried to contact him when my books were published in the year 2001. At that time I could not find any contact address of him, no matter how I searched. So I simply dropped the idea to contact him. One morning I heard that he lost his battle with cancer and entered into eternity. I felt real sorry for not even trying to contact him. I regretted and I really repented before God. Later I learned that there was a forum through which I could have contacted him. But it was too late now.

One year prier to his death one night I saw a dream. In my dream he was sitting with a group of children in heaven. He was asking questions to children and they were answering him and it seemed that all were greatly enjoying. That time I laughed thinking what type of dream it was but little did I knew that he was so close to eternity. Later when he died and ABC aired the life of Peter Jennings then only I came to know that he had great love for children and he was sitting among children just like I saw in my dream. I still wonder... did he make it to heaven?

Yes, life is too short. Everyday is precious and every Christian is obligated to preach the good news of salvation to others which is through Jesus Christ alone. At times we do not realize that life is too short and it can end at any moment. Are you ready to face eternity? Jesus promised to give eternal life to those who accept Him as there personal Lord and Savior. Bible says in John 1:12, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name" If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please pray this prayer from the bottom of your heart.

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I know that, if I die today, I will end up in hell fire. Please forgive and forget all my sins and give me eternal life. Today, I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart and give me a new life. From now on I will walk in your ways. Thank you for listening to my prayers. I give you all the glory, In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

One Year Later.... It is not Emotional!
By Sherly Isaac

Often I have heard that healing does not take place. Its all emotional stuff.. etc. When I started this magazine, many told me, "you are young and energetic. You are doing it in some kind of enthusiasm but as days will progress your enthusiasm will go away so would be your work. But thank God after nine years we are still here. The reason is because it is not emotional but rock solid reality. If you have known the cry of hell and the joy of heaven, you cannot sit quietly in your seat but you will do it anyway and anyhow to save souls.

Exactly one year back on 23rd Sep. 2005 my dad got hospitalized. His health continuously deteriorated. He was continuously loosing his strength and was not responding to medicine. He had no desire to eat and if he ate something, he vomited. About 4-5 days later doctor told my brother that, "He is continuously loosing strength and not responding to the medicines. The prognosis does not look good." In the next few days he lost more of his strength and doctors decided to feed him through a tube. He also was unable to speak. Even if he spoke the words were not clear. Slowly one by one all of his organs were shutting down. He was close to death but because we have never seen anybody in this condition before, we could not understand the seriousness of his illness.

On 2nd Oct. 2005 he was not much responsive. I and my family members all sensed something wrong. I asked one of the nurses whether he was sleeping or something else? She checked all his vitals and told me to ask him, if he had any kind of problem. I woke him up and asked and he moved his hand and indicated as if he was fine. When nurse left the room I grabbed the Bible which was in the room, opened Psalm 91 and started reading loudly as I walked around my dad's bed. I was not only reading it but claiming the promises of God which was in those verses. I said, "O Lord, is it not your word which says in Psa 91:4-7, "He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you." Also in Psa 91:9-10, "Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;" When I closed my Bible yet I repeated 10th verse again and again, "No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;"

In the evening my brother and sister came to the hospital and my sister asked the same question to another nurse... “Is he conscious or unconscious?” Instead of telling the condition of my dad, she started asking whether we have decided about his life... "did he write his last will? If he cannot breath by himself does he want to be on ventilator etc.” But they did not care to see why he was looking so lethargic.

Next morning when we reached hospital, he was unconscious and had shallow breathing. doctors declared to us that, his chances of recovery was nil. Cutting the long story short, he was put on ventilator that day. Next day he regained consciousness but everything did not go smooth as we thought. Next two months were real battle for all of us. Some days he looked completely normal and some days he looked very ill. It was completely frustrating when few days later he failed the breathing test which would have indicated whether he can be removed from ventilator. He was able to exhale but unable to take deep breath. Second time he passed the test but later two more times he needed assistance for breathing. So they put him on a machine called Bi-Pap. At times I thought, “what would happen if he could not take deep breaths... how long will they use Bi-Pap? He also had metabolic imbalance. Sometimes his Potassium would be low or high and sometimes his Sodium would be high or low. More than that he lost his memory. He also lost several pounds and remained bones and skin.

If I say in one word it was completely "frustrating". But it is amazing that he recovered this much in this last one year. The day he came back home from Hospital after two months, his metabolic imbalance left him. He started remembering things and now his memory is sharper than before. His appetite is great and he gained so much weight that even doctor told him to reduce food intakes so that he could not gain more weight.

Yes, it is not emotional! How could anybody call it emotional? My friend, God is real so is His healing power. He has not lost His healing power as some people think. He is able to heal and deliver. He is able to come for our rescue. God promised in Psa 91:15, "He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him." Yes, There is a God who cares for us and He wants to bless us. His name is Jesus. Call upon Him and He will answer you. He will deliver you from all your troubles.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 10th Oct. 2006

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 10th Oct. 2006
