Godly and Ungodly

Mat 25:31-34, "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:…"

According to the Bible there are two groups of people in this world and at the end there will be two groups of people. One who is going to heaven and the other to hell. According to Mathew 25:31-34 at the end all the nations will be gathered before Him and He will separate them from one another and their destiny will be different.

Let's see who these two groups of people.are?

1.Ungodly People
2.Godly People

1. Ungodly People:
People who do not believe in God come in this category. These are the people who think that they are godly and believe in God but in the real sense are not. I heard many expressing different views about their godliness. Here are a few of them.

1. Because I believe in God that is why I go to church.
2. I believe in God that is why I could sustain through all the hard trials.
3. I believe in God that is why I am alive today.

All of these categories do not justify that they are godly. Many attend church not because they love God but because of various reasons. (1). Many attend church because it is a tradition. I remember when I was a child my dad always said, "what may come you should attend church regularly." My dad compelled us to attend Sunday school regularly though I did not like it. My parents were not saved at that time and still they believed in God and tried to follow God's ways as a tradition. (2) Many attend Church as long as they have some place and position in the church. As long as they stay in position they attend church regularly but as soon as that position slips away their interest for church also slips away. (3) Many attend church because of the income they get from the church by ungodly ways. As soon as you cut that source of income they vanish from the church. (4). Many attend church because of food. Once when I was in India a church member asked us, "are you coming to house prayer meeting?" We replied that we would not be able to come. So he said, "hey people attend cottage prayer because you get food there."

When Jesus was in this world many have followed Jesus with the same mentality. Once Jesus said to the crowd in John 6:25 -27, "And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "Rabbi, when did You come here?" Jesus answered them and said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. "Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him."

There are many who think that they are following Christ but really they are not.

2. Godly People:
Knowing about Jesus and knowing Jesus are entirely different things. You might be a member of some church for many years but it could be possible that you do know Jesus personally. Let me explain to you what is the difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Jesus. If you ask me about the president of the United States, I would say I know about the president. I heard about him several times. I heard his speeches several times. I saw him hundreds of times over TV. But if you ask do you know him. I would say 'No'. Why because I never met him personally, never talked to him. The same thing is here. Christianity is not a religion. It is not learning about Christ. It is not knowing more about Christ, but Christianity is all about knowing Jesus. Knowing who Christ is and who He is for me.

According to the Bible those who know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and only those people have the right to enter in heaven. How can you know Christ personally? It is too easy. You need to come to Christ with child like faith. For knowing Christ you don't need big degrees, big intelligence but you need a heart like child. You need to invite Jesus into your heart. Gospel is too simple. Jesus the Son of God came down in this earth and died for us to give us eternal life. The Bible says, "Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin, all unrighteousness."

1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

The work on the cross is a finished work and the gift of salvation is free. To receive this gift the only condition is, that you need to come to Jesus with child like faith and accept this free gift to enter in heaven. Here many have misunderstanding. Many think that Jesus has already done it on the cross so it is mine since I am born in a Christian home. But that is not true. Blood of Jesus is available freely but only to those who are willing to apply it on their heart's door post. Look at Moses. When he killed the Passover lamb he said, 'you must apply that blood on the door posts of your home.' Passover lamb is a symbol of Jesus' sacrifice. Exo 12:7, 'And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.'

Blood of Jesus is available for us but who is going to put it on your door post? It is you who are going to do it. Please don't think that Jesus is going to do it for you. Israelites heard it clearly that they have to put the blood on the door post's of their houses. The Bible says, those who obeyed the command and put the blood on their door post escaped death. Exo 12:13, 'Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt." When death angel passed through the land of Egypt wherever he found the blood he spared that house but wherever blood was not found death knocked at that door. Today also the same rule applies for everyone. Jesus has shed His blood and completed the work of salvation. If you have already applied the blood of Jesus on your heart's door you are safe. If you have not done it yet you can still do it. But if you have no plan to put the blood on your heart's door beware of the great danger. You could lose heaven.

Please do not despise the Blood of Jesus when it is available for your redemption. Today you can receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior and can escape hell. If you are willing to do so please pray this prayer from the bottom of your heart.

Lord Jesus I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died for my sin. I believe that Jesus' blood can cleanse me from all my unrighteousness. Please Lord come into my heart. Forgive and forget my sins. Wash my sins with your precious blood. I repent of my sins and accept you as my Lord and Savior. I pray in Jesus most precious name. Amen.

God Who Gives Rest

Not only God gave rest to Asa and his people but also delivered him from great disaster. He was in great trouble but when he called upon the name of God, God helped him.

Today also God wants to give His children a life full of rest and make them victorious over their enemies. Give your life to Jesus. Walk in His ways and He will bless you.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 9th Oct. 2007

 
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 9th Oct. 2007
