Just as the universe has the balance of yin and yang, one of them any
balance systems of the body is the acid/alkaline balance. There are
two forms of acid/alkaline mechanisms. One is metabolic, the other
respiratory. One of the causes of death in diabetes is a condition
known as diabetic acidosis, when the bodies pH becomes so acidic the
persons tissue literally boil. This is what in part killed my own
father.
The pH of the body is important in disease and in health, and in fact
is a measure of the state of ones health more than about any other
marker. Blood acidity rises in the case of chronic lung disease
because the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide is impeded by the
lung condition.
One can do a great deal to manipulate pH balance toward alkaline.
Eating a more alkaline friendly diet is one thing. Such a diet helps
the overweight lose weight very quickly. Allergies and other even
more serious disease conditions will clear up. There are many good
books on this subject in detail. One of the latest is THE pH MIRACLE.
Why does a condition of alkalinity just about bullet proof one against
most disease. Well, most of the kinds of micro organisms that cause
disease are acid loving, and do not thrive well in the presence of
high levels of oxygen. Being highly oxygenated is one way to alter pH
toward the alkaline. Doing the deep breathing practices of
disciplines like the martial art Qigong, or some of the breathing
methods of Yoga. These methods all increase the amount of the
percentage of oxygen in the body which is a more alkaline state. A
body in a maximum alkaline state is virtually immune to viral or
bacterial infections. Think about it, one of the best disinfectants
available is hydrogen peroxide. It literally oxidizes microorganisms
to death.
There are other products available in most health food stores that can
help one become more alkaline. There are products like Greens+, and
Green Magma. There are products like VITAMIN O. Juicing green
veggies is alkaline promoting. And if one wants to really get into
this, there are oxygen producing products on the market. I have been

Many forms of male impotence with no detectable reason have been
treated with what is termed EWOT...or Exercise With Oxygen Therapy.
Basically one walks on a treadmill or works on an exercise bike while
breathing pure O2 for a several minutes a day. Many studies have
shown that using oxygen in creative ways reverses aging and wrinkles.
I have even seen an oxygenating showerhead for sale, which is supposed
to increase oxygen content of water particles as you take a shower. I
plan to get one of those too!
And anyone who has ever looked into cancer research soon learns that
cancer cells keel over and die in the presence of high concentrations
of oxygen.
In summary, most states of disease are linked to being too acid in
your body chemistry. States of health are linked to good oxygen
saturation and alkalinity. One achieves this via diet and lifestyle
changes. Research and more research into the subject, and then going
about changing your life to one that is in line with the chemistry of
health rather than the chemistry of disease. All the herbs and
supplements and alternative therapies in the world will not help that
much if one is too acid.
So get up and go get a green drink, breathe deep, and start thinking
more oxygen and more alkaline and less disease and aging.
