Well, I'm beginning to think this rain will never end in Texas; although, they are predicting two whole days of sunshine toward the end of the week. Woo hoo!! (I'll believe it when I see it!) Yesterday, I took my kids to "The Main Event" in Fort Worth. My son's class was supposed to get together for a pool party, but due to all of the rain, they decided to meet there instead. It was fun. They got to eat pizza, bowl, and play those "Chuck E. Cheese"-like games for points which can be redeemed for those cheap prizes that don't come close to being worth what you had to spend to earn them to begin with. LOL! That's it for today. They will not get through wet newspapers. .:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:..:*~*: TODAY'S RECIPE Cranberry Chocolate Cookies INGREDIENTS: 3/4 cup butter or margarine, at room temperature 3/4 cup sugar 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1/3 cup milk 2 Tablespoons orange juice 2 eggs 2 1/2 cups flour 1 cup oatmeal (not old fashioned) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 3/4 to 1 cup macadamia nuts, chopped 1 cup (8 ounce package) dried cranberries 1 cup chopped dark chocolate DIRECTIONS: Mix butter, sugar, brown sugar, & vanilla in a bowl until blended. Add milk, orange juice, & eggs, mixing well. Add dry ingredients & mix well. If too liquidy, add a tablespoon or so of flour. Stir in nuts, dried cranberries, & chocolate. Drop by large teaspoonsful on cookie sheets, allowing room to spread in the oven. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, for 8-10 minutes. Should be golden brown, not too pale.
