Zinester's Publisher News - September 9, 2004

Dear Subscriber,

Ezine-Tips reports that with releasing of the new Microsoft XP Service Pak 2 (SP2) you can face some problems with the HTML issues of your newsletter as Outlook Express in Windows XP SP2 will now block images automatically in your messages if your email address is not in the subscriber address book.
The formatting may become odd, also emails will not get tracked properly.

According to Microsoft's Knowledge Base, they have an article on this topic and a solution to turn off the new default:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=843018

Here are two ways how to avoid the problem:

* Educate your email list members to add you to their address book.

* Educate your email list members on how to turn off the "Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail" option.

1. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Outlook Express.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Security tab.
3. Click to clear the Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail check box.
4. Click Apply, and then click OK.

Read the full story in the Ezine-Tips issue.

Take care,
