August is here and that means our local fairs and festivals
are getting into full swing. Andrea, an Oregon mom of 5, touts
the Clackamas County Fair for its country feel and great
activities and displays for kids. They even have a children's

Hi, Moms!

Nothing says summer's here like a bowl full of sweet
Oregon strawberries! Growing up,  I always looked forward
to our annual strawberry picking trip, so I know my children
will have buckets of fun this Friday as I continue the
tradition. In a quest to eat as many berries as possible,
my toddler will supplement his diet with a little dirt, some
leaves and maybe even a small slug. (Cringe!)  My older kids
will pick oodles of the scarlet treats - but not one will make
it into a tub to take home. (I wonder where they'll go?)

is State Park Day where families can enjoy free camping, free
children's activities and free day-use at many of Oregon's best

Everything is green, the air is warming  and you can

toward spring break!  My hubby (a teacher) and I will be
taking a group of high school boys on a baseball trip to

Well, our sleds were out and ready, but the arctic blast Oregon received last
week didn't bring any much-desired snow to our house.  I suppose winter is
