Now accepting pitches, short scripts and feature length screenplays. Final Deadline: October 1st Entry Fee: $40 GRAND PRIZE Three writers will be chosen from all submissions (pitches, shorts and features) and invited to one week of screenplay development at the BlueCat Screenwriting Lab, held in Los Angeles on March 16-23, ALL EXPENSES PAID, including a $1000 cash award. LAB AWARDS The following awards will be given to writers not selected for the Los Angeles Lab: Feature Development Awards Three writers will receive $1000 each to underwrite further development of their feature length screenplay. Pitch Development Awards We are offering these awards to four writers to spur development of their idea into a screenplay. The Art of Screenwriting Workshop will include topics such as selecting an idea, finding your creative voice, scripting effective dialogue, compelling character arcs, the rewrite, effective story construction, audience relationship, work habits and discipline, production alternatives, industry awareness and more. The Script Intensive is a small workshop of ten writers, with all participants submitting ten pages from an existing script or work-in-progress. We review all elements of story on display in the ten pages, along with the technical aspects of effective screenwriting as craft. All discussions eventually lead to an analysis of the entire screenplay arc.
