Hi Everyone,

 

My novel The Mayor's Wife Wore Sapphires launch on Sunday was indescribable.  But I'll try.  The celebrity readers brought the house down! The leading male, Pascal, doing prologue and chapter 8 sounded like James Earl Jones, and Tamika Liemson, an actress, as Indigo was mesmerizing.  Camille Tucker, an actress and movie producer, playing the Indigo with the Spanish wowed the crowd, and I always do that love scene like no one else. I don't allow anyone else to do it. 

 

 It was warm and sunny, and we were seated  theatre style beside a sparkling blue pool with the hillside to the north. When the celebrity readers finished reading, the applause was uncontainable.  We read prologue, 1, 3, 7, and 8. That was a lot of reading, but the crowd begged for more. Oh, no you don't!

 

 

All of this happened with no prior publicity. I wrote the writeup and will post it as soon as the photographer gives me photos for the newspapers.  Also I have a little movie that I'll post on the net.  As an outgrowth of the event, The Crenshaw Chamber of Commerce invited me to come Friday to talk about an area promo.  They have the mall, Wal-Mart, Borders, Kios in the aisles.  He is so impressed with how the social commentary and love story are so well meshed in a murder mystery that he wants to help.  Now that's what I'm talking about!

 

Everyone looked fabulous and the parading waiters served the most sumptious hors d'oeuvres.  The whole affair gave the press a lot to talk about. I got a celebrity bazaar appointment out of it. That event will be happening on December 16 in a mansion in Calabasas.  It will not be just books; it's 25 celebrities showing their line of goods for sale.  Everyone is inviting their friends to buy for Christmas. That will allow the celebrity buyers to show off how much they can spend.  I hope each one of them buys ten books from me for Christmas presents.  I'm getting my Christmas packages ready for them now--wrapped and ready to go.

 

I'm trying to work out how to have everyone jammed around my table, buying books, talking Indigo. I'll think of something by then.
