WRITERS RIDE BUS FOR NEW IMAGE

On Friday, Saturday, Sunday, October 12, 13, 14, we're taking to the streets to talk about our dignity and self-respect. 10 NEW IMAGE WRITERS are taking their brilliant, productive characters to a kickoff at Four Points Sheraton Hotel, Inglewood Library, Crown Books at Crenshaw Mall, Smiley's Books, Carson. It's a 12 hour day that's making us feel significant in standing up for the image of African Americans.

I saw this video of Jay-Z roughing up a Black woman, and all of the people stood by just looking. I heard about Bill O'rilley's negative comments, and we've heard the coach calling a Black woman the B-word. Well, it's just gone to far. "Just a little bit of respect, please!"

If you're in LA, or in California, our writers are from all over. We are going out to put another kind of image in people's minds. If you have any suggestions, what would you say to the world on this trip that will eventually cover the nation? How do you feel about how people disrespect us. How we disrespect us?
