Anyone, in any business can do it. If you yearn to write the Great American Novel, or just your novel, and You can’t afford to take the time to do it, just turn to article writing. It’s a quick, easy way to work yourself out of your day job and still pay your bills while writing your novel. When I was writing my novel, I wrote articles. When I began to market my novel, I wrote articles. The income gave me time to build my audience base. Some people wondered how I could be selling books without a lot of noise. I was writing articles. One day, I started tracking my very targeted market. Lo and behold, most of it came from ezines and sites I had never heard of— viral marketing at its best. Guess how much money I saved. Thousands of dollars! First, article writers who distribute through Article distributors and directories like Isnare.com, writers_n_publishers.com, Prweb.com, prleap.com, and a host of others, never know where their articles will be used or seen. I traced mine to totally unfamiliar places. That equates to big money. For all of that I paid $18.00. Isnare was the only paid distribution I ever used, and it was well worth it. I think I got 18-20 submissions for that amount. If you learn to write popular articles, there are sites that will pay you $3.50- $25 an article. You can turn them out in about 30 minutes, average—not bad. And you can learn a little research and turn out four articles a day, easy. Think, that’s $100 a day, $500 a week—not bad. $2,000 a month. Ummm. Will that sustain you until your fiction writing pays off? If not, add article writing on Saturday mornings and hang out the rest of the day. There are other areas of article writing where you can get paid, but the real biggie is to review products and services. Some companies will pay far more than the article companies pay. Some of your articles may attract copy- writing jobs, which are very lucrative. Anyone can learn to write a good article in a short time. Then when people google you, they’ll find you by your articles. About the Author: Martha Tucker is the author of “The Mayor’s Wife Wore Sapphires, an urban political thriller.
