The refusal of many soldiers to fight in an unjust war was a key reason why the U.S. was forced to end its illegal war and occupation in Vietnam. 

Much of their resistance would not have been possible without solidarity from the civilian anti-war movement.  Today's peace movement must also extend support to anti-war soldier resisters.

About Kyle Snyder:

Kyle arrived in Canada in April 2005 while on leave from the Iraq War. For a year and a half, he was the most outspoken U.S. war resister in British Columbia. Kyle left Canada to turn himself in, with the understanding between the Army and his attorney that he would be discharged and not face jail time. The Army lied again and Kyle went AWOL for the second time, during this period he traveled the United Sates speaking out.  After several attempts to arrest him, Kyle is back in Canada for the time being.
