WHEN
YOUR BODY WANTS TO EXPLODE
We
don’t know what you did on your holiday weekend, but
we have learned the hard way how to accomplish the most
growth in the least amount of time: this actually means
gaining two dress sizes in two hours, eating Easter and
Passover goodies. Who can beat that?
Until we get back down to normal size, it might be a problem
for any salsa partner of ours to figure out which is an
arm and which is a leg (and not an egg). All kidding aside,
we hope you enjoyed your Passover and Easter holidays and
are getting that extra zest that relaxation and good food
brings.
With so many salsa events happening in Toronto these days,
we are working extremely hard to keep up with them all in
our reviews and photos, and you can rest assured you will
find out all about the hottest events - in detail!
Last week’s highlight
was definitely a great Noche Cubana Tropical at Zemra Bar
and Lounge, with its refreshing, non-pretentious
atmosphere while featuring three fantastic dance numbers
of salsa, rumba, and conga from our own Bong and Irina,
and an impromptu romantic number from the incomparable Alberto
Gomez and his partner Lucy. Zemra is evolving an eclectic
crowd of many great dancers who have no problem switching
between LA and Cuban style. This Friday, Zemra will be featuring
a “belly-dancing night”, a sure thing for a
night of fun and sensuality. (See more info below)
Toronto will soon welcome Dave
Paris from NY who will teach his amazing “Lifts and
Aerials” workshop
at Dance to Live Studios, coming up on Sunday, April 18th.
Space is extremely limited so if you want to add these acrobatics
to your dancing, register early. More info, click here
And if dance exposure is something you crave, check out
the calls for the performers in our ad section below, as
an up-and-coming new play will feature salsa, salsa and
salsa!
