Subject: Salsa goes LUCID in Toronto! - February01, 2005

Thank you for subscribing to SalsaSPOT newsletter. We apreciate your patronage. Please drop us a line should you have any questions , comments or suggestions. Thanks!

Dear Salseros and Salseras!

La Bomba! The winter came and by the looks of it, it is here to stay! We hope none of this cold weather is taking away your enjoyment of salsa. Nevertheless, we will warm you up with this week’s great material and news.

For starters, we have an interview with La Bomba, one of the rare talented females in this very male-dominated scene. Bomba is a documentary film-maker and an award winning graffiti artist. Obviously there is much more to her, than just a pretty face so check out her incredible interview!

While women might be a rarity on the Latin entertainment scene, certainly they are not lacking when it comes to the media business, as women run the show from TV to yours truly's website. One of the interviews we featured in the past month was of TV show host and producer Gisel Della Chiara from the Latin Vibes. She is now joining the army of fundraisers for the Tsunami victims. Enjoy a variety of live performers while nibbling on hors d’ouvres on Wednesday, Feb 9 @ Babaluu's. Minimum donation/entry is $25, so please give generously.

And a week later, Wednesday February 16, our salsa scene is experiencing a rebirth of our weekly live Latin night out salsa tradition. Following the steps of Berlin, but located in downtown Toronto on Richmond and John, LUCID is the place where things are happening and surely it will be so, with the Wednesday Live Latin nights. On February 16, the most exclusive Toronto club opens its gates to salseros and all Latin-music aficionados so you are definately invited!

If you havenever been to Lucid before, then you will enjoy modern lines of elegant hardwood floors and a leather and metal ambience with an overall look of luxurious space with exquisite dance floors. At this stage the only thing missing is you, so enjoy the February special and get in and enjoy a dance class with a friend for only $10! As you can imagine, it will only take one visit to turn this club into your one and only weekday outing choice. It is certainly not only the best looking club but also a very professional one. It was a real pleasure meeting their team and welcoming them to our little salsa world.

About LUCID: Now this is not your regular club: Founded in 1993, the company has created, developed and managed a diverse portfolio of entertainment venues around the world from nightclubs and bars to indoor sports facilities and themed complexes. Properties have been developed on three continents (Europe, Asia, North America). Chairman and CEO Michael Wilkings, started the company after more than 25 years in the international entertainment and leisure industries. The company was taken public in 2001."There is no other organizations like ours, anywhere, that develops the kind of unique properties we have created," says Wilkings. "We are focused on being leaders in providing the best, most innovative and successful entertainment sites in the world."

So, if Valentine’s day is not enough for you or you just never get enough, surprise your date or dance partner with this exceptional night out. If you are driving, then arrive earlier and get a spot on surrounding streets.

As we are looking forward to seeing you in this professional venue, rest assured that professional venues have a professional way of dealing with problems. One of the problems that our company is facing recently is with one individual on the scene.

WARNING: There is an individual in his 50s or 60s that is presenting himself as working for our company, specifically handing out business cards that say that his domain is SalsaToronto.ca which is clearly our domain.
Be cautious! The guy does not work for us.
We do not understand why he misrepresents himself, but we cannot be responsible for people’s problems. We are taking action for this and you just need to type SalsaToronto.ca on your browser or click here and will land on our site. We did not make any business cards that have that name and/or domain, so if you encounter any please keep it and notify us at your earliest convenience.
