just one celebration after another coming up!
Valentine’s is a celebration of love and each year
we just cannot get enough of the festivities!
Valentine’s surely is about love, sex and all the
sensual things, so if you had to make a pick which local
artist has the most of the above goodies? The award goes
to bachata sweetheart Carlos
Cruz. Enjoy our interview with Carlitos

You can get ready for the Love festivities by celebrating
the Chinese New Year and helping Tsunami victims on Feb
9 at Babaluus’. The
fundraiser ‘Dance of Hope’
is organized by our local superstar a.k.a. Ms. ‘Sex
Files’ and Ms. Latin Vibes – gorgeous Gisel
Della Chiara. This is an all-star night with lots of food,
live performances and surprises of all sorts, so the minimum
donation of $25 is definitely worth it.
Then get set for the Valentine’s
Day celebration this Friday at Momentos.
The night will double as two of the three Sabor Nuevo
promoters celebrate their special day of a year alongside
their closest friends and supporters. It’s Birthday
fest at Momentos on Friday Night! This once-a-year party
is a not to be missed event, so mark this Friday as one
of your Love Hotspots!
Then on Saturday, Rhythm
and Motion dance studio throws a Love party.
Enjoy a fantastic evening of dancing to Latin, ballroom
and tango music. The studio is infamous for their lavish
Hors d'oeuvres and there is a Cash Bar for those who like
a glass of wine with their cheese. If you don’t

To put a cherry on the top of the festivities on Wednesday,
February 16, trendy downtown nightclub Lucid has a grand
opening of their Latin Wednesdays. The
celebration will begin with Cache’s energy, so bring
your date and friends to this new hotspot.
This is what is in front of us. Love, love, love….And
how many of you checked the Saturday Star? On page three
it featured ‘You should be dancing’ and the
article was accompanied with a picture of John
Travolta and Ellen DeGeneres dancing on
her show. It seems that dancing is everywhere!
Dancing is destined to become a true hit all over again
as American-Idol producers
joined forces with the Fox Network and created a Dance
Idol which is tentatively named Dance Nation.
It is rumoured to be hosted by American-Idol’s Paula
Abdul. When the US version rolls out, the Canadian version
follows and that would be our Bailamos producers, City
Dance Corps. They are working on the details of the project
with the Canadian-Idol producers as we speak.
City Dance Corps are one of the hottest dance schools
in town. If you have not already done so, check them out

Last but not least, SalsaSPOT
gets its share of love and spotlight on CBC’s ‘Definitely
Not the Opera’. We
were also featured on New Music Canada. They
were intrigued with last week’s interview on Bomba.
