NEWS: IBRAHÍM FERRER DIED
It is the
end of an era. Ibrahím Ferrer, a poster child
for the Buena Vista Social Club and a Grammy-winning
voice, died of a heart attack on Saturday in Havana.
He was 78.
Ferrer was born on Feb.
20, 1927 during a dance at a social club where
his mother went into labor. While this could be
seen as an omen of times to come, his path to
stardom was not rosy, to say the least.
