1. EDITOR??™S TEA ???Cajun Champagne Tonic???
=======================================================
Some years ago, one of my chiropractors, Dr. Tony Palombo gave me a recipe for a beverage that my friend Martha Leger later told me was a refreshing treat her family had enjoyed after many a long hot day working their farm in the Cajun Prairie.
I recently decided to call it Cajun Champagne Tonic, because it fizzes a little at first, and is good for general health. The honey eases up the taste of the vinegar and provides a dose of Vitamin E. The vinegar brings a mega-dose of Vitamin C to the party, has a little bite to it, and releases the thickness of the honey. So it??™s a team effort.
In my personal experience, it has helped with weight loss, cold/flu, cleansing the body of toxins like lactic acid (the ???crunchies??? that reflexologists press out), among other things. A few spoonfuls of straight apple cider vinegar once helped my dad wake up pain-free the day after a bad fall from his attic onto his cement garage floor. Here??™s the quick and easy recipe:
???Cajun Champagne Tonic???
One 1?? liter bottle pure spring water (2/$1 at Dollar General)
Four Tablespoons apple cider vinegar (98c for a small bottle at WalMart)
Four capfuls of honey (varies with the market)
Drink a couple swigs of the water to make some space in the bottle. Add the honey and vinegar. Tightly recap the water bottle and shake vigorously to mix. Sip on this all day, and be sure to finish it by sundown.

2. Massage Minute: Breast Cancer
=======================================================
Three therapeutic massages a week may help women with stage 1 and 2 breast cancer, according to evidence from a University of Miami Touch Research Institute (TRI) study currently in review. In the study, some of the group of thirty-four post-op women received half-hour massages three times a week for five weeks.
The women who received massage therapy noted reduced anxiety, depression and anger with both immediate and long-lasting effects. In addition, their levels of dopamine, serotonin, natural killer cells and white blood cells increased.

3. Nutrition Corner: Overweight, Diabetics, High BP and Chocoholics Needed
=======================================================
Love chocolate? Got high blood pressure and diabetes? The National Institutes of Health (NIH) want YOU to help them study the healing benefits of chocolate! As it turns out, dark chocolate has antioxidants. In past studies it successfully lowered blood pressure in the elderly. Now they want to find out if it will help folks with both high blood pressure and diabetes.

Got a little bit more to love? Can??™t pinch an inch? There??™s another NIH study that needs overweight and normal people to help them find out if glucosamine, commonly used for arthritis, will help overweight folks with their blood sugar and blood vessels.
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/show/NCT00065377
OK, now the catch-all: are you overweight WITH high blood pressure AND diabetes? Yet another NIH study needs YOUR help to improve how the medical community measures the body??™s response to insulin and sugar.
