Subject: Reel 2 Reel Issue # 189 ~ Encased in ice and awaiting snow - March07, 2008

Hey Adventureland Friends:

Sorry, guys & gals, but this will have to do. We were
nailed by an ice storm. This left me without power for
some time. And I stil without heat.

Sadly, things aren't loking up. Now they are
predicting a major snow -- about 6-9 inches -- through
the weekend. Perhaps I can build a igloo for warmth.

'SEMI-PRO' WINS BOX OFFICE GAME

Will Ferrell's basketball comedy "Semi-Pro" dribbled
to the top of the weekend box office, but fell short
of his previous blockbuster openings in the sports
spoof genre, according to studio estimates.

New Line Cinema film, starring Ferrell, grossed $15.3
million in its debut. Lackluster compared to Ferrell's
2006 NASCAR parody "Talledega Nights: The Ballad of
Ricky Bobby," which opened at $47 million, and last
year's figure skating comedy "Blades of Glory," which
earned $33 million in its first weekend.

Box office analysts said "Semi-Pro" likely suffered
because it was released during a normally slow season
and was rated R, while "Talledega Nights" and "Blades
of Glory" were rated PG-13.

"Will Ferrell is always a draw and audiences love him.
But this particular weekend is not quite as strong as
his earlier efforts," said Paul Dergarabedian,
president of Media By Numbers.

New Line representatives declined to comment. Last
week, Time Warner announced that New Line would be
merged with Warner Bros. to cut costs and improve
profitability.

Last weekend's top film, Sony Pictures thriller
"Vantage Point," dropped to second with $13 million,
bringing its two-week domestic total to $41 million.

Sony's new release "The Other Boleyn Girl" performed
better than expected, opening at #4 with $8.3 million
at 1,166 theaters. Its $7,118 per theater average
outdistanced other movies in the marketplace.

The weekend's other opening, the Summit Entertainment
fantasy romantic comedy "Penelope," debuted in eighth
place with $4 million.

Box office revenues overall were down for the third
straight week. The top 12 movies grossed $81 million,
down 10% from last weekend and 25% from the same
weekend in 2007.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday - Sunday at U.S. and
Canadian theaters, according to Media By Numbers.
Final figures will be released Monday.

01) "Semi-Pro" @ $15.3 million.

02) "Vantage Point" @ $13 million.

03) "Spiderwick Chronicles" @ $8.8 million.

04) "The Other Boleyn Girl" @ $8.3 million

05) "Jumper" @ $7.6 million.

06) "Step Up 2 The Streets" @ $5.7 million.

07) "Fool's Gold" @ $4.7 million.

08) "Penelope" @ $4 million.

09) "No Country For Old Men" @ $4 million.

10) "Juno" @ $3.4 million.

DAVID FAUSTINO

DOB:  March 3, 1974, Los Angeles, California

Actor who is most recognized for his portrayal of the
bawdy Bud Bundy on the long-running “Married With
Children” (1987-97). Faustino found himself in front
of the camera at an early age, for by the time he was
just 3 months old, he was playing Lily Tomlin’s child

“Little House on the Prairie” and in the feature films
I Ought to Be in Pictures and The Star Chamber. A
pint-sized Hollywood veteran, Faustino was never at a
lack for work, and after a brief stint on the sitcom

job on Fox’s runaway hit “Married With Children”.
Since the series ended after an impressive 10-year run
in 1987, Faustino has appeared in the films 12 Bucks
(1998), Totally Irresponsible (2000) and The Heist
(2000).

JUDD HOLDS STORM VICTIM BENEFIT

Wynonna Judd knows what the people of Tennessee went
through the night the tornadoes hit. Her children
Elijah & Grace hid under the stairs and she hung on
outside their cubbyhole as the winds shook the house.
"Our road looks like a war zone. It's pretty bad,"
said Judd. The concert raised more than $17,000, said
organizer Lynn Fox, who also performed with The Fox
Brothers. The tornadoes swept across Tennessee on Feb.
5-6, killing 32 people and injuring more than 190. A
total of 50+ people were killed across the South.
Judd, who own an 800-acre farm, said the storm damaged
her home, knocked down trees and tore off a barn roof.

SINATRA GETS PALM SPRINGS STAR

Frank Sinatra Jr. has joined his famous dad & sister
on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars. The 64-year-old
singer received star No. 307 on Palm Canyon Drive.
Sinatra noted that he used to play on the same street
as a kid. "This has been quite a sentimental journey,"
he said. Nancy Sinatra said her brother deserves the
honor because he "is practically, single-handedly,
keeping the American songbook alive." He has made
numerous records, including a tribute to his father.

switch to Blu-ray after it offers "Things We Lost in
the Fire" and "Into the Wild" in HD DVD. Paramount
said it is in the process of determining its Blu-ray
release schedule. Universal Studios said last week it
was shifting its focus to Sony's Blu-ray.

JEN'S TWINS NAMED MAX & EMME

Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony have reportedly named
their newborn twins Max & Emme. Lopez' manager, Simon
Fields, confirmed the babies' names. The twins were
born Feb. 22, with 5-pound, 7-ounce Emme arriving
about 15 minutes before her 6-pound brother. Fields
said that Lopez, a first-time mom, was "thrilled" at
the babies' arrival. Anthony has 3 other children. The
Latin music power couple married in 2004. The babies
arrived a day after their parents were named winners
of Latin music's "Premio Lo Nuestro" awards. Lopez won

NOTRE DAME 2 HONOR SHEEN

Activist-actor Martin Sheen will be honored by the
University of Notre Dame with its Laetare Medal, the
school announced. Sheen, who starred in NBC's "The
West Wing," is to receive the medal at the school's
May 18 commencement. Since 1883, the Laetare Medal has
been awarded annually to a Catholic "whose genius has
ennobled the arts and sciences, illustrated the ideals
of the church and enriched the heritage of humanity."
Recipients include President Kennedy, Supreme Court
Justice William J. Brennan and U.S. House Speaker
Thomas "Tip" O'Neill. Sheen has used his recognition
as an actor to help others, said the university's
president, Rev. John I. Jenkins. Sheen (67) describes
himself as a Catholic peace activist.

'JACKASS' STEVE-O ARRESTED

Steve-O of "Jackass" was arrested for investigation of
vandalism and possession of a controlled substance at
his Hollywood home. Police arrested the 33-year-old
star at 5 a.m. Monday after a neighbor made a
citizen's arrest following a dispute over a fence, Los
Angeles police Officer Ana Aguirre said. Steve-O, born
Stephen Glover, was booked at a Hollywood police
station on suspicion of vandalism and an outstanding
traffic warrant, Aguirre said. He was also booked for
investigation of possessing a controlled substance for
