"If you want children to keep their feet on the ground, put some
responsibility on their shoulders." -- Abigail Van Buren

==============================================================

Hello!

We got through our first week of all-day school and are about
to start another.  It's been hard for me to find a new groove
with Sydney gone all day!

I hope you all with school-age kids are adjusting to the changes
that a new school year brings.

Have a great week!

Kim

Great Ideas for Moms:

Time Saver
Instead of waiting in line at the post office, I go to specific
Hallmark card stores and utilize the US post office inside!  The wait
is 1/4 or less the time and the sweet people in line always strike up a
great conversation with my kids to help keep them entertained!
-- Stacey from Carlsbad, CA

Free Entertainment
Take advantage of Museum Day on September 30th, where many museums across
the country offer free admission. Your whole family gets in free!

-- Melissa, 31, from Kennesaw, GA

Todder Tricks
I had a really tough time getiting my toddler to drink enough water. She
loves juice, so I serrupticiously started "watering down" her average
portion by small increments, until she was pretty much drinking plain water.
It saves $$$, too.  Juice is expensive, especially when it's all your kid
drinks all day! -- Wendy, 39, from Queens, NY

Do you have a "drop by anytime" house?
Last week I went on a business trip with my DH. While there it dawned on me
that a childhood/high school friend lived in the city we were in. I called
and he offered to drop by and pick me up while DH was in meetings. If he
were my DH I would have...well let's just say paniced. Their home was in
perfect order and believe me there were no skeletons in the closet because I
got the full tour...closets and all. I was so impressed!! Did I mention they
have a toddler!! How can I organize and maintain a house that's "drop in"
ready like that? How do you organized ladies do it? -- Username Nadino

Making gifts for Christmas
The frugal Christmas post started me thinking about things that I could make
as gifts for Christmas, and things that my ds (5) could make for his cousins
and grandparents, aunts and uncles for Christmas, because, as you all know, the
bigger the family gets the more expensive the holidays get!
So, let's get these ideas started.
