Great Ideas for Moms:

Frugal Halloween Candy
We always give out pencils and other non-edible items.
They don't cost much at all and I've never gotten a complaint.
Also, the leftovers are useful and don't cause cavities.

This year at the dollar store they have the name brand candy and
tons of it for $1.00 -- Username Ryans_mom10

Stain Removal
When I see a spot or stain, I soak the garment in Dawn detergentand water for
24 hours, then rinse to check it. If it is still there, usually it isn't, I
do it again. That normally takes care of it, then I wash it. Works well for me!

Frugal Foodie:  Yak, Anyone?

This morning I got an e-mail from an old friend. An urban-dwelling metropolitan
friend with no kids. Someone who has ready-access and ample time to dine at interesting
ethnic eateries within the city. Someone who has probably never set foot in Chuck E. Cheese
or ordered a Happy Meal. You get my point.

Shopping at Aldi
I went over to Aldi on my lunch break and I was just wondering, for those of
you who shop there, what you and your family like at Aldi? I bought crackers, French
fries and chicken broth to try, but I was unsure about what other things to try. Suggestions?

Homeschooling and Socialization
So many people bring it up as the first negative to HS, thinking that the kids can't be just
because they aren't in school. What does "socialization" mean to you? How much do you need?
Is school the best place to get it? If you hs, are you worried about your kids and/or do you
go out of your way to socialize them elsewhere?

Do You Buy Something Every Day?
As a stay-at-home mom, I get bored and feel like I need to go somewhere and spend money every day.
I was just thinking about how well I did today because I went to the playground (free) and the
library (free). Then I realized I spent money at the library; 40 cents on 4 magazines. Ok, that's
not bad, but I know if I don't go anywhere I could save money. But then I will have to get a new hobby.
Do you spend $ everyday?  If not, what do you do?
