Happy Groundhog Day! It looks like we're snowbound for another day; schools in our area are closed. However, with temps in the teens we feel like it's downright balmy compared to the 20 below we experienced last week! The countdown is on -- Valentine's Day is less than two weeks away! If you're need some fun gift ideas, scroll down to read some good ones from our readers. I found that the bag inside my favorite cereal (after being cleaned and tore opened) was great. I save extra also by carefully opening the top and putting goodies in and tying with a ribbon for a quick gift. -- Nilda from NY Decorating Reading the Wall Art tip prompted me to share my decorating story. When it came time to paint my boys' bedroom I thought I would include them in the process. I let them paint a hand in their color choice and then strategically place their "prints" around the top of their room as a border. They chose complementary colors (purple and blue). Then I painted a horizontal red line under the handprints. We also spray painted their closet doors with green chalkboard paint (took about 3 cans) and placed a set of handprints on each door. It really looks cute! And the boys are proud of their "artwork". -- T.W., 37, from CA I painted a door in my kitchen with chalkboard paint. ($9 for a pint) While I cook, my 2 year old draws, and I also have a great place to write down messages and shopping lists! It looks great too! -- Kathleen, 34, from WA Coffee A friend of mine recently shared this tip for making inexpensive, easy and delicious flavored coffee at home! Just put a few drops of pure vanilla extract (to taste) in the bottom of your coffee pot and sprinkle some cinnamon ( to taste) over the coffee grounds in the filter. Brew the pot like you normally would and the result: a subtle, rich tasting coffee that could easily pass for the store bought flavored coffee, without the expense! -- Jennifer, 32, from WA To view our article, Coffeehouse Coffee On a Budget, click here: http://www.mommysavers.com/Articles/coffeehouse.htm We need YOUR tips for our newsletter!
