Mommysavers Newsletter - July 30, 2007 Visit our site for more great resources: http://www.mommysavers.com "We can tell our values by looking at our checkbook stubs." -- Gloria Steinem ============================================================== Hello, Today marks my first day at home since July 12th when my mom was airlifted to Mayo hospitals in Rochester, MN. The whole experience has magnified what is really important in life (hint: it's NOT saving money!). Reuse every container that came into the house! Grandpa had glass jars with nails, bolts, etc. in his shop area that hung from the lids, he'd pound a nail through the lid and than screw in the jar. -- Member 3girls4me For more tips: http://mommysavers.com/boards/money-saving-tips-household/41831-depression-era-tips.html Tip from a Merrymaid I have a friend who works for Merrymaids. We saw her last weekend at a birthday party and got to talking about cleaning supplies. She told me that they use dawn dish soap for EVERYTHING! Eight drops of Dawn to one of those large spray bottles you get from the garden section. She said they use it on everything from the bathroom, kitchen, windows, carpet spots (rinse with water and vinigar to get the soap residue out)...you name it! -- Member 3boysmommy Homemade Iced Coffee I had about a cup of coffee left over from yesterday's pot that I made, so I put it in a cup in the fridge. Well, this afternoon, I was really in the mood for a pick-me-up, so I took that coffee out of the fridge, put it in a larger cup, added the same amount of milk as I had coffee, plus about 4 teaspoons of sugar. It tasted just like the Starbuck's Frapacino's that they have in the bottle. -- Member Vioburn For more money saving tips: http://mommysavers.com/boards/spending-less-saving-more/ ------------------------------ Hot Deals: Disney Store $5 shipping, snow globes up to 70% off, and PJ pals $3.99 http://mommysavers.com/boards/online-bargains/42018-5-shipping-snow-globe-up-70-off-pj-pals-3-99-a.html Doodle Bears/Doodle Monsters only $4.99 http://mommysavers.com/boards/online-bargains/42009-doodle-bears-monsters-only-4-99-a.html Children's Place Denim $9.99 The Children's Place website currently has ALL classic denim jeans on sale for $9.99.
