Money Saving Ideas

Frugal Weekend Entertainment Once in a while on weekends, I do a beauty shop for the girls. I wash and deep condition their hair (while they are laying across my kitchen counter by my sink. I use a bath pillow for comfort, using warm towels from the dryer) I massage their scalps, blow dry and style or curl their hair, then paint finger and toe nails, give them a facial (just lotion for the younger ones). I really have a lot of fun doing this for them.  Having six girls this can take a while but it's funny how much they all enjoy this -- even the older ones. Most of the time we do this on Sundays so when we are done we all go into each girls closet and pick out school clothes for the week. -- Member Momofsixgirls

Birthdays on a Budget I have given "memory boxes" as gifts and it is always a hit for both men and women. For an Aunt of mine I bought a pottery "box" with a lid. For my Mom it was one of those photo boxes with a hinged lid that you put photos on the outside (Walmart for $3). To a friend it was a papier mache box from craft store that I decorated.  Inside you fill it with notes about past memories that make you smile. For my Aunt's I had my Mom, brother, cousins, myself all create a list of memories from childhood to the present. Each year she has added more to the pot and they take them out at holiday meals and read them aloud. -- Member 3boysmommy

Frugal Lunch Ideas for Kids  1.  Use the recipe for the crescent rolls that you roll up a hot dog in (it's on most of the crescent roll containers)  2.  Cheese, crackers, and fresh fruit   3.  Take a tortilla, put a layer of peanut butter on, some jelly if you like, put a banana on it to one side and roll up. -- Member Deemom
