Homemade
Baby Books I just made
my daughter some books. One I filled with pictures of her cousins and
family, her favorite animals etc. The other is an ABC book I made
using a blank board book, magazine pictures and Modge Podge. She loves them
both, they're her new favorite toys.

Backyard BBQs on a Budget
If we have a planned party, I will make some pasta salad. I
can make a one pound box of it for about $5. I buy the pasta and dressing at
a scratch and dent place, pepperoni (stockpiled from sales) is normally in
the freezer, and typically cubed cheese is in the fridge.

Eating on Vacations
Last year we took a two week vacation to GA and St. Louis. We
had a cooler full of snacks, bread, PB&J, cheese, fruit, juice. On our way
to GA, we stopped and made sandwiches for lunch. Since we were in St. Louis
for 5 days, we stayed at an Extended Stay hotel, which was a little cheaper
than a standard hotel room and the weekend rate was even cheaper than
weekday since it's more for business people. It had a small kitchen so I
went to the grocery store to buy easy cook stuff I could just do in the room
for breakfast and lunches. We typically ate dinner out with family and
friends but breakfast and lunch were in the room at our own pace. --
