"All mothers are rich when they love their children." -- Maurice Maeterlinck

==============================================================

Hello!

I hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend.  We took Sydney to see the
fireworks for her first time.  We all really enjoyed it!  It was a little
cold where we were.  We're still waiting for summer to begin in certain
parts of Minnesota!

July ushers in a great month of summer sales.  Scroll down to see great
Disney items on sale -- lots of great princess stuff!

Have a good week!

Kim

Money/Time Saving Ideas:

Weed Killer
I found out that if you put vinegar in a spray bottle and spray your weeds
(even poinson ivy) that they will die.  No expensive weed killer is needed.
You can also use vinegar and water in a spray bottle to clean your
windows/mirrors.  -- Nancy, 55, from OH

Cute Shoes for Kids
Take a pair of inexpensive flip-flops (about $2.50 right now at Old Navy)
and tie un-inflated balloons the color of your choice around the straps.
Tie them close together to make a 'fringe.'  It is really cute! -- Jordan,
30, from OH

Organization
I post a list of family and friends birthdays/anniversaries on the
refrigerator right next to the calendar. I created the list in Microsoft
Excel and also added a formula to calculate the age/how many years married
using the present year. This way, I don't have to guess incorrectly and
I can send a card out that is personalized. -- Michelle, 34, from NY

Clothes for Kids:  Tips from our Readers

Many retailers will refund the difference if an item you buy gets marked
down (or additionally marked down) within 1 - 2 weeks after purchase.  I
used to work at Gap Kids and people would come in two weeks after their
purchase and have me check to see if the items they bought had been marked
down further; if they had, they would get the difference refunded. You don't
need to bring in the items you purchased, just the receipt.  Most stores
have this policy printed on the receipt, but if they don't, just ask.  It is
such an easy way to save $. -- Shannon, 30, from WA

To save money on name brand clothing, visit an outlet mall after every major
holiday. Clothes are already reduced to outlet prices but are further
reduced at the sidewalk sales during and after every major holiday (for
instance an additional 60% off). I stock up this way about 4 times a year
and purchase clothes for my 3 children. I don't spend more than 7.00 for any
one item. -- Montiqua, 28, from GA

Do you have any great ways to save on clothing at specific retailers?  We'd
love to pass them on in our newsletter!

Real Moms:  Funny Things Kids Do/Say

The night before his fifth birthday,  Hunter asked me if now that he was
turning five, was he still going to be the same size?  He thought since he
was getting older,  he would be getting bigger right away! -- Angie, 33,
from MS

Recently, Cade (2 1/2) was acting up and I told him to behave or he would be
grounded.  He said, "Like Chester?" (Our dog who recently died - whom we
buried in the back yard). -- Mishael, 33, from NC
