Just add some vinegar to a bucket of hot water. Add about 10 drops of an essential oil to make it smell nice. I like peppermint or grapefruit. They can be found in health food stores. They come in little bottles and last a long time. Your won't have to worry about your babies crawling on the floor after mopping it. No yucking ammonia to worry about! -- Caroline, 36, from NY I use Watkins Vanilla with water in the microwave. It also works great in cleaning out the microwave of dried on food splatters plus it make the house smell great! -- Trystina, 35, from PA Shoes Zappos.com is also great for those hard to find sizes, like wides or narrows, extra long or extra short. I wear an 11W and like fashionable shoes, not granny shoes. With zappos.com, you can get a rating of shoe ahead of time, and easily return the shoes if they just aren't right. Their customer service is awesome, and they're prices are decent, especially with free shipping. http://www.mommysavers.com/deals/zappos.htm -- Laura, 42, from WA Dressing Kids My son just started to get himself dressed in the morning. I solved the problem of shorts in the winter by making clothing bundles for him. Just like I do when I pack, I put a whole outfit together and roll it up. In the morning he picks a bundle and gets himself dressed. I make the bundles as I put away laundry. This has also made me aware of how many clothes he has and what is not getting worn. -- Karen, 42, from MA We need YOUR tips for our newsletter! I added a note saying "You have the Key to my heart". Very inexpensive, very sentimental. -- Michelle, 43, from MN A great and really inexpensive Valentine's Day gift is a candy card. Get a large piece of poster board and a bunch of candy bars. Ones that have a double meaning (like Baby Ruth, Big Hunk, etc.) are best. Then write a letter using the candy bars to fill in certain adjectives like "You are my "Big Hunk" and I am your "Baby Ruth". This is a great gift both for children and adults, costs very little and is VERY much appreciated (I made one for my husband the first year we were dating and he LOVED it). The only bad thing is that you really can't give this gift to the same person twice! -- Sara, 25, from TX To see MORE great ideas, click here: http://www.mommysavers.com/celebrations/valentines_day.htm ----------------------------- Valentine's Day Deals: Restaurant.com Half price restaurant gift certificates! Heat until hot. Add chicken breasts and season heavily with pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Just cook until lightly browned. Once chicken is browned add the chicken broth, water and boullion. Bring to a boil. Once at a boil turn down to medium-low heat and simmer until chicken falls off the bone. Remove bones from broth. Let simmer for another 15 minutes than bring up to a boil and add tortellini. Bring back up to a boil and cook for about 5 minutes or until tortelinni are cooked through. Serve hot with Parmesan cheese and hot crusty bread. So good!! Enjoy! -- Posted on our Discussion Board by Little-Star ----------------------------- Real Moms: Organization Don't collect magazines, papers, etc. Tie them up and throw them out. It cleans up so well. The necessity papers need to be filed away. Paper makes mess! -- Gloria, 28, from NJ I really try to keep clutter to a minimum. I walk from the mailbox to the trashcan and throw away all the junk mail. Then I put the rest of the mail in my briefcase in my car since I pay my bills online from my office. If it's a magazine or something that needs to come into the house I put it wherever it belongs. I try not to stack it up somewhere. Also every night the girls and I look at their work that was sent home from school then they put it in the plastic file box so we can keep it forever. We use lots of plastic storage bins. I like the ones with drawers or different compartments. -- Misty, 33, from OK Write down when you last cleaned bathrooms, showers, toilets, etc. This way you'll never forget when you last completed your chore. I use a tiny cheap calendar - it works for me. -- Robin, 39, from NJ These great hints came from our Real Mom Profiles. Keep 'em coming!
