I found out that the company that makes ALL of the store brand formulas (Wyeth Nutritionals) is the same company that invented formula as well as the company that has made all of the advances in formula production (including the addition of DHA/ARA). The formula is a lot cheaper and I feel more comfortable knowing that the formula I feed my daughter is made by the creator of formula. -- Lyssa from Rockwall, TX Kids' Art Instead of buying the rolls of paper to put down on your dining room table for craft times, put down a fitted twin sheet! I was trying to paper all the time to save the table when it came time for finger painting, but then my husband suggested an old fitted sheet. It is great! As soon as you are done, you just pull it up and throw it in the laundry! -- Stephanie O'Connor from Copley, OH Homemade Felt Board Cover a hard plastic 3-ring binder in flannel (a reused receiving blanket is almost the perfect size). Cut out felt shapes to use in the book. You can cut out simple triangles, squares, and circles, or houses, cars, and people. You can also reuse light fleece clothing instead of the felt. On the inside of the binder, put plastic sleeves that fit in the 3-ring binders. Use one plastic sleeve for each "category" of felt shapes. -- Julie from Erlanger, KY These three moms will be receiving a FREE copy of the book, 1000 Best Baby Bargains: http://www.mommysavers.com/1000_baby_bargains.htm Submit your best money-saving tips and ideas to share in upcoming editions of our newsletter, and win a free copy of 1000 Best Baby Bargains! http://www.mommysavers.com/baby_bargains.htm ----------------------------- What's New: Picture of the Week: "Lovin' Little Brother" Submitted by Laura K. of Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada Laura writes, "This photo is of Martina 3 1/2 & Mitchell 11 months. They are a goldmine! My daughter ONLY wears boutique and better retail (Gymboree, Hanna, etc.) and it is mostly from thrift stores. You have to look hard and often, but think of the money you save. -- Dawn, 37, from NC My biggest money saving tip is to use cash for your groceries and normal household items, such as tp, diapers and cleaners. That way, when it is gone, it's gone and you are more likely to try to stretch your dollar. I also buy a few items in bulk and I shop at our local discount/off brand grocery store. It is amazing how much I save there! -- Nicole, 25, from KS These great hints came from our Real Mom Profiles. Keep 'em coming!
