Money/Time Saving Ideas:

Another Use For..
Save empty baby food jars and use them as an expensive alternative for
adding soft lighting to a porch or deck in the evening.  Simply place a
tealight in each jar and if possible use quite a few at once and Voila you
have an beautiful candlelit evening. -- Iman, 34, from WI

In the Kitchen
I use my crock pot and bread maker all summer and still keep my home cool.
I put these on my porch where I have an outlet and they don't heat up my
kitchen that way.  My favorite easy dinner is put a whole roaster chicken in
the crock pot for the afternoon.  It's easy, delicious and inexpensive. (it
also drives our cat crazy!) -- Diane, 42, from IL

My kids are always wanting pasta and I hate to have to watch it. I found out
I can microwave any pasta the same way we were making EasyMac. I just put
water and the pasta in a bowl (one or two servings) and cook in the
microwave for 3-5 minutes. I experimented until I found the right amount of
time. I just drain it and serve it in the same bowl after adding butter and
salt. It's great not to have to watch a boiling pot when I'm busy. -- Anne,
43, from WV

Thrifty Fun:

Reinforcing Paper Plates
A frisbee will add support to paper plates when the plate is place
inside the frisbee.

Frugal Toys - Squirt Bottles
Water fights can be a lot of fun in the summer time. Squirt bottles
and spray bottles for dish soap or hand soap that are thoroughly
cleaned can make great water guns for small children. Fill up some
water balloons as well and let the games begin.

1000 Best Baby Bargains:

#501.  Mondays and Tuesdays are good days to shop thrift stores.  Most
stores receive more donations on the weekend and put out their new
merchandise early in the week.

#908.  Make your baby's handprint in clay at home for a fraction of the cost
of a prepacked kit.  Mix 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1 teaspoon
salt, and 3/4 cup water.  Heat over medium heat until boiling, then lower
heat and stir until thick.  Spread mixture in a mold like a whipped topping
container or margarine lid.  When cool, press your baby's hand into the
dough to form a handprint.  String with pink or blue ribbon and use a
toothpick to write the date before it dries.
