"In every conceivable manner, the family is link to our past, bridge to our
future." -- Alex Haley

==============================================================

Hello!

We will have TONS of new content and articles next week when we
launch the new site, which I'm really excited about.  This week
in the newsletter we're focusing on deals and discussion. If you
missed the bargain alert about the prints from Snapfish or the
casting call for Florida moms, scroll down to read more about it.

Thanks to everyone who sent pictures last week.  I got hundreds of
great submissions!  I'm still looking for some pictures of moms and
their kids together (preferably with a natural, uncluttered background).
I'm suspecting that most of you are the ones behind the camera, not
in front of it! (You can e-mail submissions to: sydney@mommysavers.com)

Have a great week!

Kim

Money Saving Tips:

After-Christmas Sales
Pick up stickers and stamps after any holiday on clearance.  Make a
collection, add some nice pens, and post-it notes.  Then you can give these
as great teacher gifts.  My kids teachers are always asking for things that
they can use in the classroom and stickers are always on the list. --
Natalie, 28, from AR

Dollar Store Shopping
The Dollar Store has this wonderful cleaner called "Awesome".  It comes in a
large spray bottle for only $1 and it literally cleans everything! I used it
to get stains out of my carpet that has been there for years. It will also
remove grease and other stains from clothing. What a great bargain! -- Beth,
28, from TN

Another Use For...
I keep an old Pampers wipe container upstairs and fill it with plastic
supermarket bags, then when I need to empty the upstairs wastebins or put a
stinky diaper in it, the bags are easily accessible. -- Lori, 33, from PA

Parenting Tricks:

I have 4 very picky eaters who range in age from 12 years of age down to 3
years old.  I have found that food is much more palatable for them when they
can't see it!  So, we eat many meals by candlelight.  It is fun, we all put
on our best manners and the plates are picked through much less.
Good luck to you in getting veggies and all into your kids! -- Sandi from CA

Broken Toys & Playdates:  How Do YOU Handle It?
My friend and her children came over this morning for a playdate and lunch.
While they were here, one of her boys broke one of my sons favorite toys
that he just got for Christmas (and mine too, as it does not need
batteries). What do I do? I have never been one to tell someone that they
broke something of mine and they have to replace it.

EBay vs. Garage Sale: What Would YOU Do?
I want to get rid of a bunch of stuff (mostly baby & kids clothes).
I have tried to sell some things on ebay for my mom and did not have much luck.
Just curious if I should plan a yard sale or try the eBay thing again.
