Money Saving Tips:

Don't Throw it Away
This may sound silly, but works great. Instead of throwing away pantyhose
after wearing them only a few times. Cut them into bands. They are stretchy,
washable and very practical. I use them to tie my hair, secure shoeboxes,
making cabinets inaccessable by banding knobs together, hang small toys from
stroller, etc. Use they same way you would use rubber bands but soo much
better! -- Linda, 44, from Houston TX

Organization
I buy the small Easter buckets from the $1 spot at Target (the little metal
bright colored ones) and use them for crayons, markers, scissors and other
art supplies for my 3 year old. We wait until just after the season and can
usually get them on sale at 4 for $1.  We also used the little buckets for
for hair ribbons, pony tail holders and barrets. We also buy extra buckets
to fill with inexpensive or clearanced art supplies and give as gifts.  --
Julie, 38, from New Richmond WI

Cleaning
Rather than buying the more expensive Windex glass cleaner, just buy a spray
bottle (or use an empty Windex one) and a bottle of white vinegar.  Mix 1/4
cup vinegar with 1 cup water and get cleaning.  This solutions works just as
great as Windex at just a fraction of the cost. -- Michelle, 30, from Rock
Falls IL

A New Twist on Playdough Toys

I don't like those little play dough toys that have "hair" growing out
the top- it is impossible to push the dough through, then it is a pain
to clean up. Also, a lot of the toys break easily, plus they are not
cheap to buy. Anyway, all this has led me to search out "new" PD toys....
Here are a few that I find right in my own house (no purchase necessary).

1. Most popular at my house: The Egg Slicer. It does require some parental
supervision, but make a few PD eggs and let the kids slice them up. You can
get some really cool cuts if you do the same egg on different angles. My son
loves to peel the egg slices apart and make stuff with the slices.

2. Most baby friendly: The Potato Masher. Little hands can manage this easily,
and the designs in the PD are neat.

3. Golf Balls: Roll them over your PD for some interesting texture and patterns.

4. Toothpicks (or straws cut into thirds): you can use these to connect balls or
blocks of PD and build things (again- parent supervision needed with little ones)
