"Being a mom is like being a triathlete, only much more grueling.
So don't even try to be perfect; try to survive."

Hello!

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day yesterday.  I had a near-perfect
day with a little time to myself and then going out to eat with my
family.  Today I'm dealing with my Mother's Day "hangover" (i.e. doing
all the laundry, dishes, cleaning that I wasn't allowed to do on "my day off").
It's back to reality! ;)

Have a great week,

Kim

Money Saving Ideas:  Eating Out

I buy the Entertainment Book for my area every year and split the cost with
my mom and one of my sisters. Sometimes a guy from my husband's work goes in, too.
There are tons of BOGO meals and discounts on everything you can think of:
auto, cleaners, sports and events. Plus if you register your book online,
there will be coupons you can print. We all live in different parts of a large
metro area so we get tons of coupons each that we can use. Plus my mom and sister
get the coupons for the area they work in.  -- Username Honeybear

One thing we've started to do to save money on restaurant food: take out.
We call in the order and my husband will go pick it up. We don't spend
money on drinks, tips or dessert. A meal in the restaurant that averages $30
could be as low as $18 when picked up and eaten at home. -- Username Ruby1988

When eating fast food I have been known to order a kids meal for myself.
It's big enough to satisfy me. Have you seen the Taco Bell kids meal?
It's too much for a kid: 2 soft tacos, cinnamon twist, a drink, and nachos
and cheese. -- Username TracyB

Giving up the Binky
My son just turned two and I want to get him to stop using his binky
(pacifier). I have tried to limit it just to bed time, but that has
not gone too well. I am also going to be having our second child in
one month so I am not sure that it is the right time to be doing
this but I am tired of him being dependent on it.
Anyone have any ideas of what worked for them?

What's Cooking:  Sasha's Yummy Chicken Sandwiches

1 4lb. bag of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 cans cream of broccoli soup
2 cans of fat free milk (the empty cans of broccoli soup: just fill them up
with fat-free milk)

Throw it all in the crockpot, mixing the ingredients together well.
I threw it in before work. Then I came back and shredded up all the
chicken, stirring the soup mixture with the chicken.
(Don't be shocked when your soup is a little brown. It's okay. Just stir it
up together.) Throw the mixture onto wheat bread and enjoy.  -- Username Sassy
