Money Saving Ideas:

Easy Natural Cleaner
I use this for everything! It works great for floors, cupboards and walls.
If you add some salt to it, its a great bathtub cleaner!

Spray bottle
fill with 1/2 water and 1/2 vinegar
and add a few drops of tea tree oil

To clean the bathtub I spray it on the tub and then sprinkle the salt on
and just scrub away. IT gets everything off.  It works well for rusty water
and it leaves the house smelling awesome.  -- Username Kimberley

Thrifty Tips

Serving Food at Parties
While it's easiest to put out a lot of food at once, you can save a
lot of waste and possibly prevent some food poisoning by putting food
out in smaller batches and replacing it as it runs out.  This keeps food
from sitting out all day (or all night) so any food that is leftover is
still edible.  If food needs to be left out for long periods of time,
make sure it is properly cooled or kept warm using either ice or warming
trays.

Uses for Pringles Cans
Pringles cans work well for storing small toys and tennis balls. They work
well for to store clean (or still being used) paint rollers and small paint
brushes. They are also the perfect size for storing home baked cookies.

Mom's Coffee Break:

Hip Mom Rule #3: Trust Yourself  by Heidi A. Burns
Before I had my first baby, I was full of ideas and opinions on what
makes a good parent. I read the newest books and surfed the most popular
web pages. I was well on my way to being the most educated,
hippest mom around...

Jelly Mom:  Pets Are Not Like Kids
When statistics site that a growing number of households in America are
inhabited by single people without children or by childless couples, it’s
easy to understand why the commercial world caters to pet owners. But, God
love them, as much as we baby our dogs and cats, caring for a pet is nothing like
caring for a child.  Let me tell you some of the reasons why...

Build-a-Bear Alternatives
What toddler clothes would fit a Build-A-Bear character? My daughter and I
went to Build-A-Bear over the weekend for the new Hello Kitty. Once there,
she found another kitty she liked better and an outfit, shoes, sunglasses and
brush/mirror. All said and done after coupon, it was still $40. I'm looking for alternatives to
stretch out our investment when she bored with the current fashion.

Active Toddler - No Yard.  HELP!
I am a young stay at home mom, for about a year - a little less. Anyway, My
girl just turned 16 months and is very active. We moved from the beach to a
place with no yard and I need some creative activities to play outside and inside that are crazy
messy as we rent our house. I've done pudding fingerpaint (REALLY FUN) -
outside on a sheet pan and bubbles (she loves to chase them and try to kiss them)
If anyone has any great ideas, I'm very intersted!

Spending Less Support Group
I work 40 hours a week, my husband works more than I do. We make decent
money, yet we are still broke. I have an obsession with purses and Target.
Mixed together, deadly combination. I cannot go in any store and not buy more than I'm
supposed to. That goes for groceries too. Somehow I sneak things in the grocery bill and consider
it still groceries. I want to stop and want to start being budget concious, yet I don't know
where to start. I also need to know how to feed a family of 4 without spending 150.00 week! I
realize I need help and I'm asking all of you to walk me through it. I have 2 girls ages 5 and
7. That adds up between Soccer, Cheerleading, Gymastics. Then to top it off, my 5 year old
starts school this year and now I have 2 to buy school clothes for. How am I ever going to
accomplish this goal? I will post my temptations daily, I think I need to be held
accountable for my actions. My husband is about to lose it. Credit cards maxed and all.

What's Cooking: Ziplock Omelet

This works great, and is good for when all your family is together. The best
part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet!

Directions:

Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with
permanent marker. Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more
than 2) shake to combine them. Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion,
green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of
choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place
the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8
omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water. Open the bags and the
omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed. Nice to serve with fresh
fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a  great conversation
piece.
