Here goes: I received AWESOME news yesterday. The cancer is in my thyroid and NOT my one remaining kidney. I will be undergoing one of two surgeries based on the calcitonin level of my blood test that I had to have yesterday. If the calcitonin level has remained high, they will be removing my thyroid and all the lymph nodes in my throat and upper chest. If the calcitonin level has come down, they will remove only my thyroid. I'm on cloud 9 right now as I was terrified when they said it could be my one remaining kidney. With all the breakthroughs people are having with cancer research, I'm in good hands and no longer freaked out. Thank you for your prayers. They mean a lot to me. Hugs, Di We are so happy for Di!
