I don't know if you know of this organisation, but they help people out who are usually self-sufficient, but find themselves in a temporary situation with expenses outside their control. Modest Needs runs on donations and helps as many people per month as they possibly can. They also help families at Christmas. You may want to check them out, or pass this info on to Jana. A huge thank you to Lois for her great ideas:) Good Morning, I have an idea and thought regarding the food baskets. First of all I would like to say how truely wonderful it is that others do take the time to help others when they themselves are so busy with the holidays. But my idea for filling baskets is for those that are filling them for them to check with local churches for their food pantrys to help them. I know that I belong to a wonderful church and on the third Saturday of every month with open the church to those in need. We give out one box of food but more than that we have a big fellowship hall with numerous tables set up like a flea market or garage sale. These tables have clothes starting from newborn on up to adult. We have toys, nick-nacks-shoes-furniture-appliances and just about anything any body get want. We have had micros, tvs and even cribs, and chairs. These items of course are used but gently and are free. We do not want anything from them except their names and addresses. We just want to show them that there are people that want to help and that we care. There is also another church that has a food pantry and clothes closet every Thursday. So whomever fills these baskets may want to check with their local church's to help. I hope this idea will help, maybe even good another to enter to win the silver onyx cross. But thank you and good luck at filling the baskets. I wish I could help with a donation but both my husband and I are disabled and I am the only one on SS until his is approved and if anybody has tried to get on it we may die first. But good luck.
