Basil * * My dear, dear little sister' Rob walked with God this Christmas, but also stood beside those he loved. I know he would not have missed being near you ! He was a great man indeed, but as men go.....our time is but a blink of God's eyes. Rob made good use of his time, and accomplished much. God knew who to pair him with so this could happen. God does not make mistakes, but in his great wisdom chose well. You speak of his accomplishments letting all that support you and the family gave him sit silent. LOL So like you. Rob will not be forgotten. And his memeory lives on and encourages more works in the name of HE who sent him. I in no way am making light of the absence my dear. I know it well. But to fill emptiness with such beauty and joy! What a wonderful Christmas gift you gave Rob. He would NOT want you all to stagnate. Oh no! You have been issued a silent challenge to find more things to do and more ways to reach out! My regret is that I never met you all as a couple! There is a verse that comes to mind. It speaks of faith, hope and love........and the greatest of these is love! You have survived this and will continue to live well and in doing so bring honor to Rob's memory and glory to God as well. Do not forget you are allowed to bask in the glow of such. It is not wrong to enjoy the happiness you give, even if it is with the help of God. Now I will close with this Patsy! There, you must turn onto the Bridge of Faith, which is over troubled waters. When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep Straight. You are on the King's Highway - Heaven-bound. Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One for the Son, and One for the Holy Ghost. Then exit off onto Grace Blvd. From there, make a Right turn on Gospel Lane. Keep Straight and then make another Right on Prayer Road. As you go on your way Yield Not to the traffic on Temptation Ave. Also avoid SIN STREET because it is a DEAD END. Pass up Envy Drive, and Hate Avenue. Also, pass Hypocrisy Street, Gossiping Lane, and Backbiting Blvd. However, you have to go down Long-suffering Lane, Persecution Blvd. and Trials and Tribulations Ave. But that's all right, because VICTORY Street is straight ahead! She had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked "God" to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for "God's" protection. Instantly, a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question.Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her." Moral of the story: Don't underestimate the power of Prayer! Gives ya goose bumps doesn't it! This is to all of you who mean something to me, I pray for your happiness.
