Hello everyone...
I have a special prayer request & an update on a previous prayer request. My friend, Jared, in England, is in the hospital. They thought he had appendicits & removed his appendix. Turns out there was nothing wrong with his appendix, however, he has the most sever case of "mono" they have ever encountered there. His liver & spleen are swollen & he is very sick when I spoke with him today. I will paste the note from his fiancee', Keri, so you can see how he & the baby *Taylor James* that was threatening miscarriage (Jared's prayer request for his sister) is doing:) Thank you & God bless you all...Patsy, Kay & Kyle

Dear Patsy,
Jared talks about you often, and always speaks so highly of you. I'm beginning to understand why. Thank you for the very tender email. It is obvious how loving of a person you are. Your email is just saturated with love. Love for those around you, love for your friends--especially Jared, love for Rob, and love for the gospel, and your Heavenly Father and Saviour.
Jared does have a bedside phone, and I'm sure that he would love a quick call from you. Of course I will give Jared a hug from you. He was very concerned that you find out what was going on and didn't worry. And if you talk to him, he will talk a lot about the baby, and pretend like his health is really nothing and tell you that he is fine.
With everything going on, life is taken day-by-day here, and every day feels like a year, and each day has its own important updates. So here's the news for today.
Jared had a really rough night. He was doing much better yesterday--we played backgammon and he got out of bed a little, and was able to eat some. But he started feeling poorly again in the evening, and he was sick all night long. Mum went in to see him now. Visiting hours don't actually start until 3 pm, and although I've been going in much earlier than that, the nurses scolded me yesterday, so I actually have to wait until this afternoon to see him. I don't understand how they have the right to stop us from going in to see him. It is obviously better for the patient--Jared--to have someone there with him, and I'm not in the way of the doctors or nurses. It's hard to see him so poorly, but it is much much harder when I'm not there with him, and have to know that he's poorly and alone.
The doctors haven't given any indication of how long he'll be in hospital. We think the earliest he could come out would be Tuesday. But it is a miracle that no one else has gotten sick. I know that it will probably take a long time for him to completely recover. But I pray that he will get well enough to come home, so that we can at least watch over him here. He hates hospitals. (and I know that hospitals bring back a lot of memories with Rob for him).
Baby Taylor is just one miracle after another. Heavenly Father has truly blessed and protected this special little baby. He's still breathing on his own, and they were even able to stop supplementing his oxygen. So now he is breathing normal air on his own! No one ever expected for him to progress this quickly!

Naturally-Dyed Easter Eggs
Wipe raw eggs gently with a clean cloth dipped in distilled white vinegar. Place 6 to 8 eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and fill with tap water until the level is 1 inch above the eggs. Add 2 tablespoons of distilled white vinegar per quart of water, which should help to keep the eggs from cracking. Add your own fruits, vegetables or spices for color as shown below. You can generally add up to 4 cups of fruits and vegetables per quart of water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove eggs with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to dry. For deeper shades, strain the colorant mixture and refrigerate eggs in liquid overnight.
Add patterns to your eggs by adhering leaves and other natural elements to shells before cooking. They can be secured by wrapping fin thread around the raw eggs.
For a bright, radiant shine, rub your finished eggs lightly with a soft cloth dipped in vegetable oil.
All these recipes assume that each quart of water has 2 tablespoons of distilled white vinegar added to it.
Purple Eggs
Add 4 cups of blueberries to one quart of water.
Pink Eggs
Add 4 cups of raspberries to one quart of water.
Blue-Green Eggs
Add 4 cups of red cabbage to one quart of water.
Yellow Eggs
Add 2 tablespoons of turmeric to one quart of water.
Copper-colored Eggs
Add 4 cups of yellow onion skins to one quart of water.
Bronze-colored Eggs
Use brewed coffee instead of tap water to simmer your eggs

Easter Bunny S'Mores in a Jar
Reduce 1 sleeve graham crackers to crumbs. Layer 2/3 of the crumbs in a 1-quart jar. Place 8 marshmallow bunny peeps standing up, facing out around the inside of the jar. Press them up against the glass, but don't squash them. Carefully spoon remaining crumbs in the center of the jar to support the bunnies, pressing down to keep it snug. On top of this pour 1 1/4 cups Easter M&M's. Spoon 1/3 cup brown sugar into center of M&M's, gently pressing with a spoon.
Attach a gift tag as follows:
Easter Bunny S'Mores
Empty the jar contents into a bowl. Snip the bunnies into bits with kitchen sheers or cut up with a knife. Return the bunny bits to the mixture. Mix well. Melt 1/2 cup butter; add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Pour this over the dry ingredients, mixing well. Pat into a greased 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. Cool and cut into bars. Makes 9 to 12 bars.
*Option - leave bunnies whole; combine remaining ingredients and place the bunnies on top; then bake as directed.
