In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, saw dawn, felt sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up your quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

He Only Takes The Best

God saw they were their happiest and
someone would not let that be.
So He put his arms around them and whispered
"Come with Me".

With tear filled eyes we watched them,
suffer and fade away. Although we
loved them deeply, We could not
make them stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

Footprints with a Twist

Author Unknown

Imagine you and the Lord Jesus walking down the road together. For much of

the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely

varying the pace. But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags,

starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures and returns. For much of the

way, it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints come more in

line with the Lord's soon paralleling His consistently. You and Jesus are

walking as true friends! This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing

happens: your footprints, that once etched the sand next to Jesus', are now

walking precisely in His steps. Inside His larger footprints are your smaller

ones, safely you and Jesus are becoming one.

This goes on for many miles but gradually you notice another change. The

footprints inside the larger footprints seem to grow larger. Eventually they

disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints; they have become

one.

This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is

back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops.

Starts. Deep gashes in the sand. A veritable mess of prints. You are amazed

and shocked. Your dream ends. Now you pray: "Lord, I understand the first

scene with the zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning.

But you walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with you."

"That is correct."

"... and when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually

learning to walk in Your steps; I followed you very closely." "Very good. You

have understood everything so far." "...when the smaller footprints grew and

filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like you in every way."

"Precisely."

"So, Lord, was there a regression or something? The footprints separated, and

this time it was worse than at first." There is a pause as the Lord answers

with a smile in His voice. "You didn't know? That was when we danced."

When Tomorrow
Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me,
and I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry,
the way you did today,
while thinking of the many things,
we didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name,
and took me by the hand,
and said my place was ready,
in heaven far above,
and that I'd have to leave behind,
all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
a tear fell from my eye,
for all life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
so much yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible,
that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
and all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,
just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
my heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
from His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity,
and all I've promised you".

Today for life on earth is past,
but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
but today will always last,
and since each day's the same day,
there's no longing for the past.

But you have been so faithful,
so trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,
you knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
and now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand
and share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
for every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.

Helping Angels Unaware!

It was a rainy night in New Orleans;
At a bus station in the town,
I watched a young girl weeping
As her baggage was taken down.
It seems she'd lost her ticket
Changing buses in the night.
She begged them not to leave her there
With no sign of help in sight.
The bus driver had a face of stone
And his heart was surely the same.
"Losing your ticket's like losing cash money,"
He said, and left her in the rain.
Then an old Indian man stood up
And blocked the driver's way
And would not let him pass before
He said what he had to say.
"How can you leave that girl out there?
Have you no God to fear?
You know she had a ticket.
You can't just leave her here.
You can't put her out in a city
Where she doesn't have a friend.
You will meet your schedule,
But she might meet her end."
The driver showed no sign
That he'd heard or even cared
About the young girl's problem
Or how her travels fared.
So the old gentleman said,
"For her fare I'll pay.
I'll give her a little money
To help her on her way."
He went and bought the ticket
And helped her to her place
And helped her put her baggage
In the overhead luggage space.
"How can I repay," she said,
"the kindness you've shown tonight?
We're strangers who won't meet again
A mere ' 'thank you 'doesn't seem right."
He said, "What goes around comes around.
This I've learned with time - -
What you give, you always get back;
What you sow, you reap in kind.
Always be helpful to others
And give what you can spare;
For by being kind to strangers,
We help angels unaware.

The Colors Of Friendship???

Once upon a time the colors of the world started to quarrel. All claimed that

they were the best. The most important. The most useful. The most beautiful.

The favorite.

Green said:
"Clearly I am the most important. I am the sign of life and of hope. I was

chosen for grass, trees and leaves. Without me, all animals would die. Look

over the countryside and you will see that I am in the majority."

Blue interrupted:
"You only think about the earth, but consider the sky and the sea. It is the

water that is the basis of life and drawn up by the clouds from the deep sea.

The sky gives space and peace and serenity. Without my peace, you would all

be nothing."

Yellow chuckled:
"You are all so serious. I bring laughter, gaiety, and warmth into the world.

The sun is yellow, the moon is yellow, the stars are yellow. Every time you

look at a sunflower, the whole world starts to smile. Without me there would

be no fun."

Orange started next to blow her trumpet:
"I am the color of health and strength. I may be scarce, but I am precious

for I serve the needs of human life. I carry the most important vitamins.

Think of carrots, pumpkins, oranges, mangoes, and papayas. I don't hang

around all the time, but when I fill the sky at sunrise or sunset, my beauty

is so striking that no one gives another thought to any of you."

Red could stand it no longer he shouted out:
"I am the ruler of all of you. I am blood - life's blood! I am the color of

danger and of bravery. I am willing to fight for a cause. I bring fire into

the blood. Without me, the earth would be as empty as the moon. I am the

color of passion and of love, the red rose, the poinsettia and the poppy."

Purple rose up to his full height:
He was very tall and spoke with great pomp: "I am the color of royalty and

power. Kings, chiefs, and bishops have always chosen me for I am the sign of

authority and wisdom. People do not question me! They listen and obey."

Finally Indigo spoke, much more quietly than all the others, but with just as

much determination: "Think of me. I am the color of silence. You hardly

notice me, but without me you all become superficial. I represent thought and

reflection, twilight and deep water. You need me for balance and contrast,

for prayer and inner peace."

And so the colors went on boasting, each convinced of his or her own

superiority. Their quarreling became louder and louder. Suddenly there was a

startling flash of bright lightening, thunder rolled and boomed. Rain started

to pour down relentlessly. The colors crouched down in fear, drawing close to

one another for comfort.

In the midst of the clamor, rain began to speak:
"You foolish colors, fighting amongst yourselves, each trying to dominate the

rest. Don't you know that you were each made for a special purpose, unique

and different? Join hands with one another and come to me."

Doing as they were told, the colors united and joined
hands.

The rain continued:
"From now on, when it rains, each of you will stretch across the sky in a

great bow of color as a reminder that you can all live in peace. The Rainbow

is a sign of hope for tomorrow." And so, whenever a good rain washes the

world, and a Rainbow appears in the sky, to let us remember to appreciate one

another.

The Spider Story

There was once a spider who lived in a cornfield. He was a big spider and he

had spun a beautiful web between the corn stalks. He got fat eating all the

bugs that would get caught in his web. He liked his home and planned to stay

there for the rest of his life.

One day the spider caught a little bug in his web, and just as the spider was

about to eat him, the bug said, "If you let me go I will tell you something

important that will save your life." The spider paused for a moment and

listened because he was amused. The little bug said, "You better get out of

this cornfield, the harvest is coming!"

The spider smiled and said, "What is this harvest you are talking about? I

think you are just telling me a story."

But the little bug said, "Oh no, it is true. The owner of this field is

coming to harvest it soon. All the stalks will be knocked down and the corn

will be gathered up. You will be killed by the giant machines if you stay

here."

The spider said, "I don't believe in harvests and giant machines that knock

down corn stalks. How can you prove this?"

The little bug continued, "Just look at the corn. See how it is planted in

rows? It proves this field was created by an intelligent designer."

The spider laughed and mockingly said, "This field has evolved and has

nothing to do with a creator. Corn always grows that way."

The bug went on to explain, "Oh no. This field belongs to the owner who

planted it, and the harvest is coming soon."

The spider grinned and said to the little bug, "I don't believe you," and

then the spider ate the little bug for lunch.

A few days later, the spider was laughing about the story the little bug had

told him. He thought to himself, "A harvest! What a silly idea. I have lived

here all of my life and nothing has ever disturbed me. I have been here since

these stalks were just a foot off the ground, and I'll be here for the rest

of my life, because nothing is ever going to change in this field. Life is

good, and I have it made."

The next day was a beautiful sunny day in the cornfield. The sky above was

clear and there was no wind at all. That afternoon as the spider was about to

take a nap, he noticed some thick dusty clouds moving toward him. He could

hear the roar of a great engine and he said to himself, "I wonder what that

could be?"

2 Peter 3:3-4 : In the last days mockers will come, following their own

lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the

fathers died everything continues just as it has always been."
2 Peter 3:9 : The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count

slowness, but He is patient toward you, not wanting anyone to perish, but for

all to come to repentance.

Like that little spider's amazement one day creatures upon this earth known

as man will see the clouds open and behold in the air the Son of God .

What a vision to become reality for all of us one day. . It won't be very

long till Jesus shall appear the day is growing near. Will you be ready then?

I'm ready now, but I must say wait a little longer please Jesus to get our

loved ones in home safe.

Have a safe and happy weekend.

Patsy & Kay *hugs*
