Thank you so much for all the fun ideas:) I wanna go to this one! hehe Hi, My friends and I have a Limbo party every summer! We have built a limbo court using two two-by-fours and a bunch of nails to mark off 1-inch measurements up from the ground. We use an old piece of bamboo from our neighbors yard for the crossbar and start at 5 feet. We got a copy of Harry Belafonte's "Limbo Rock" from the library and play it over and over until we have a winner...it is loads of fun and we have a good time sharing stories and laughing at each other when someone falls under the stick. For food, we grill shish cabobs with carrots, green pepper, shrimp or chicken or beef, and then onions and pineapple. We usually make a bunch of strawberry-pineapple-banana smoothies in advance and freeze them for the party. We also have a silly game we play called "fishing in the dark". This game only needs a few parts to get going. A 3 foot wide blow up pool, two sets of magnetic fishing pole games (a dollar at the dollar store for each set), two blindfolds and two flashlights. When it gets dark, we blindfold one partner on each team and the one without the blindfold tells the fisherman where to catch the magnetic fish by using the flashlight to find them. It is hilarious and everyone has a great time. As parting gifts, we give out home made magnets with fish drawn on them with the date and the words Limbo Luau on it to remind everyone how much fun we had. And for the Limbo and Fishing game prizes, we give out acrylic drinking tumblers that have pictures of fish on them. It is a great success every time and costs nearly nothing.
