We made a couple of friends & were invited to dance with the Head Dancer & he was goooddd. Woo Hooo! That was neat. It was the first time I had done that & enjoyed it & "the people", very much. Oh! & we ordered bracelets with names on them...leather & beads. Maybe I will have one as a contest item later in the year. Here are some things you have sent me about Native Americans:) I was listening to the radio one day last year & the DJ said that? If your Great, Great, Great, Great Grandparents are listed in the 1909 book of Tribal births ...? The only thing I could think at that point is? Well that leaves me out because it would have to be my Grandparents!? I find it so strange when I compare the way things were when my parents were growing up verses now! Now if you have any Native American heritage you are PROUD of it ... But when my parents were growing up you NEVER admitted to any such thing! I'm so glad times have changed, I have 2 Grandparents (one on each side) that are Native American & I am not ashamed of it!!! Leigh *-* Mahnoomn-- Wild Rice, Sacred Gift -- the Story Pancakes: Form cooked wild rice into thick pancakes or thin patties. Fry in butter. Serve with maple syrup. If you don't have any, heating brown sugar, butter and a little water (1 part water to 4 parts brown sugar) makes a better syrup than the kind you buy. Mix the liquid soap and water. Add the oatmeal and fragrance oils and stir well. Layer sugar and brown sugar in a one quart canning jar. Next, place popcorn into a small zip baggie. Seal baggie and place on top of sugar. Place lid on jar, then using clear packaging tape, attach the can of milk to the bottom of jar so they are firmly connected for storage purposes & store in a cool dry place until ready to use. Attach the following instructions for later use, or for gift giving: Caramel Popcorn: Remove popcorn from jar and using your preferred method, pop corn until you have about 12 cups or 3 quarts of popped corn. Remove un-popped kernels from corn, and set aside. In a large saucepan, mix sugar from jar with 1/2 cup butter or margarine and the can of sweetened condensed milk. Stirring constantly, bring mixture to a boil. Boil for one minute and remove from heat. Working quickly, pour mixture over popped corn, coating as much as possible while pouring, then using a large wooden spoon, mix popped corn and caramel until all corn is well coated.
