*?¤*.????.?·????`?»*?«????`?·.????.*?¤*1827 Hello everyone, From Kay:) Oct 20 Hi Folks, The Dr's have given Kyle a release date ( Nov 3 ) This is based on and depends on a few variables with Kyles progress. Kyle is receiving some intense therapy and is doing so well. In a 7 day period Kyle went from not being able to stand and support his body only for 20-30 seconds to walking 30 feet with a walker and a therapist at his elbow. His speech has improved drastically as well and communicating isn't a problem. There has been some difficulty with Kyles eating but yesterday they think they found the source. The balloon which is on the inside of his tummy attached to a feeding tube coming out of his tummy was obstructing his food from passing into his stomach. This food had no place to go but back up which explained him getting sick when he ate. They did a procedure yesterday which fixed that problem and now he can begin to get some food in his belly and his strenght back more quickly. (P.S.) I just spoke to the nurse and he ate almost 2 trays of chicken dinner. This is a first and we are happy. Generally he eats some blenderized fruit and thats it for weeks now. Kyle will need 24 hr supervision for a while when he gets home because the brain damage has made him impulsive (He does some things without thinking and he does them too fast to do them safely sometimes) Therapy will help this also and has made a huge difference thus far. He just needs to be reminded to slow down sometimes due to the fact that long term and short term memory has also been affected in various degrees. Kyle is getting more and more memory back each time we speak, but it's kinda like a a checker board. Sometime you know the next move, sometimes you don't, and other times you jump over one piece to another and forget what was in between. Some of his memory will return with him seeing and doing. There may be some memories that won't return. Currently we are making new memories and he's here with us and we are happy to have him, no matter what. Once Kyle is home he will have to continue therapy indefinately and dialysis as well at least 3 times a week. Kyle will be returning home having to use a wheel chair sometimes and a walker some of the time as well. We may have to build a wheel chair ramp for access to the house but we aren't sure yet. If therapy enables him in the next week to take one step up to a step we'll manage without it, if not then we build one. As a Family we are going through some major changes but nothing we can't adjust to. We are so very greatful to have Kyle with us and He belives God meant for him to be with us and us be a family or else he wouldn't have allowed him to live. He is also thankful for every prayer that has been voiced on his part and for the family. Bake at 325 degrees F for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 9. Wipe rims. Place hot sterilized seals and rings on hot jars.
