Subject: Archives[Pakadevas Sunday Best Inspirations] - October23, 2005

Sunday 10/23/05

Hello everyone,
Kyle was having dialysis yesterday, so he was laying low & tired.
The couple of real meals he has eaten, have turned out pretty good so far. No negative after effects that we are aware of. We hope he keeps progressing in this manner till he is completely well.
Yes...Doctors are saying he will never be the same...but then...they also didn't expect him to even live at some points & if he did, he would be a vegetable.
Wellllll, with all of your prayers & support & that of family & friends...look what God can do. HE proved them wrong:)
So...Thank you God, too:)

We are grateful for all your prayers, beautiful notes, thoughts, support, & love. You are greatly appreciated.
Our love, Patsy & Kay

Always Write in the Sand

May your day be great and surrounded in love, and may you always remember to write in the sand.

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. Along the journey, they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without anything to say, he wrote in the sand: "Today my best friend slapped me in the face."

They kept on walking, until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who got slapped and hurt started drowning, and the other friend saved him. When he recovered from the fright, he wrote on a stone: "Today my best friend saved my life".

The friend who saved and slapped his best friend, asked him, "Why, after I hurt you, you wrote in the sand, and now you write on a stone?"

The other friend smiled and replied,"When a friend hurts us, we should write it down in the sand, where the winds of forgiveness are in charge of erasing it away; when something great happens, we should engrave it in the stone of the memory of the heart, where no wind can ever erase it."

Learn to write in the sand.

Friendship's Smile

Lord, thank You for loyal, loving friends
Who are there in winter or springtime fair.
New acquaintances are easy to come by,
But true friendship is extremely rare.

A friend always sees the best in you,
Although they've known you at your worst.
They laugh with you in the good times,
When storms threaten, they'll be there first.

They'll offer a shoulder to rest your head
When tears are welling in your eyes.
Take a walk down friendship's path with you
And help chase away those stormy skies.

Lord, thank You for all the gifts You give;
Each one makes our life seem more worthwhile.
But one of the finest gifts you've given us
Is the warmth of friendship's loving smile.

"What does it profit a man to have gained the whole world, and to have lost his soul?" - Jesus Christ

You don't need to be Christian to see wisdom in the words of Jesus. Simple quotes from men and women around the world, from present day or milleniums past, inspire and instruct us, regardless of the religious or spiritual tradition they come from. Nor do spiritual and religious people have a monopoly on wisdom. Quotes that touch on the truth of a matter can come from scoundrels, saints, and ordinary people.

Silent

I was taught a lesson that just six simple letters could make a difference. Those six letters made the word - SILENT. Those letters when rearranged also spell the word - LISTEN. I never truly understood that until the day I stood silent and learned there was more to life than everyday living.
When you don't take the time to listen and be silent then everything is easily taken for granted. The things I wasn't silent for and listened for, I now miss the most- A simple "I love you" from my children; the request of a loved one who I was too busy for at the time.

Little did I know, that if I stayed quiet and savored things, I could have imprinted their voices in my mind and made memories that would have lasted!

The one thing I always will be thankful for is that I learned my lesson and heeded the call.  But also that God truly is silent and listened for my every need, but in return if I'm silent, I can also hear from Him.

Thank you Carla:)

To all of you from me:)

A lecturer was giving a lecture to his students on stress management.  He raised a glass of water and asked the audience, "How heavy do you think this glass of water is?"  The students' answers ranged from 20g to 500gm.

"It does not matter on the absolute weight.  It depends on how long you hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it is OK. If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you will have to call an ambulance.

It is the exact same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, we will not be able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly heavier. What you have to do is to put the glass down, rest for a while before holding it up again.

We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can be refreshed and are able to carry on.

So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work down.  Don't carry it back home.  You can pick it up tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you are having now on your shoulders, let it down for a moment if you can.

Pick it up again later when you have rested.

Rest and relax.  Life is short, enjoy it!

Thank you Louise:)

Hello all,
Isn't this true? We all stress out sometimes & forget to let it go & say a prayer, take a walk, call a friend, or whatever would make us feel a little less stressed. In doing so, we sometimes gather the strength & knowledge to resolve the issue. Relax & read our Sunday news...you'll feel better & who knows? Maybe your answer you will find here:) God bless you all!

Be good to each other.
Love to all from Patsy & Kay xoxoxo
