Place into a 1 quart canning jar. Put the chopped pecans on top. Close the lid & attach a tag with the following instructions: Snow Balls Preheat the oven to 325F. Grease cookie sheets. In a medium bowl, cream together 3/4 cup of shortening & 1/4 cup of margarine. Stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla. Add the entire contents of the jar & mix well. Roll dough into 1 inch balls & place them on the prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool, & roll in confectioners' sugar. I use one for carrying clothespins. Cut a hole in the front, leaving the handle intact. Then just slice across the handle near the bottom and you can hang it on the clothesline. Use an empty milk jug or other plastic jug to store your birdseed. It makes it easier to pour than trying to pour out of the plastic bag it comes in. By cutting off the top of an empty milk jug, you can make a handy disposable funnel. These are good to use when changing the oil in your car. Make a pet poop scoop with a 1/2 gallon milk jug. Cut the top out, leaving the handle and a smooth edge for scooping.
