A careful reading of this text reveals that Paul is not calling for moderation
                                 in drinking.

            The word translated moderation here means gentleness and

     has to do with our attitude toward others in view of Christ's return.

           But doesn't Paul say we should drink to the glory of God?

 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory
                        of God" (I Corinthians 10:31).
