• Darlinghurst Theatre giveaway

This August, Darlinghurst Theatre Company is proud to present the Australian Premiere of John Donnelly's play,  Bone.

For three very different lives in crisis, redemption comes in surprising forms. John Donnelly's bitterly truthful, sometimes funny, often lyrical and ultimately moving play explores the complexities of our inner lives.

Bone features actor Vanessa Downing - who played Pippa on Channel Seven's Home and Away - along with Peter Barry (appears in the upcoming movie Ghost Rider alongside Nicholas Cage) and Ryan Hayward.

Metro Screen would like to three members a double pass to the preview of Bone @ 8pm on Wednesday 2 August. Simply email your name, contact number and membership number to Katrina on k.beck@metroscreen.org.au

• SPEED DATING 2 - WRITERS AND PRODUCERS FACE-TO-FACE

Due to the overwhelming popularity of our first speed dating night, for which all participants have been locked off and finalised, the Australian Writers' Guild (AWG) Associate members will be holding a second dating session on Wednesday 26 July. So, if you are having difficulty meeting a writer or you are a writer who has never laid eyes on a Producer in your writing life, come along on a 'date' with emerging writers and producers.

The aim of this event is to foster productive working relationships between like-minded writers and producers. During the evening emerging producers will be partnered with AWG Associate members in quick succession, to share and discuss storytelling interests. Should any of these 'dates' spark mutual interest a further relationship can be pursued over drinks on the night.

This is a rare opportunity for producers to find a new scriptwriter or script to develop and for writers to sound out producers in a relaxed venue. This is not a pitching night, all attendees must be interested in meeting and developing professional relationships with either producers or writers.

Register now by filling out the online form at www.screenwritersweb.com.au This will enable the AWG to match you to the most relevant producer/writer. Numbers are limited.

When: Wednesday 26 July. 6pm to 9pm
Where: Main Auditorium, Paddington RSL, 220 Oxford Street, Paddington
Cost: $10 per person (all writers must be AWG members)
Inquiries: Pip Newling, Australian Writers' Guild via pip@awg.com.au
