DARLINGHURST THEATRE GIVEAWAY
Double passes
This September, Darlinghurst Theatre Company
takes an intimate look at Terrorism - a challenging and enlightening
play by Russia's Presnyakov Brothers.
The play, with its blacker than black absurdist interconnections, reflects
the way terrorism effects our daily lives and individual psyches - but
it does so with a great sense of surreal humour.
Terrorism is directed by Anthony Skuse (The Cold Child,
SBW Stables) and produced by square the circle (Live Acts
On Stage, SBW Stables)..
Metro Screen is giving away double passes to the performance of Terrorism
@ 8pm on Wednesday 13 September. Just email Katrina at k.beck@metroscreen.org.au
with "Darlinghurst" in the subject and include your full name,
address, and membership number.

MUSICIANS + PERFORMERS WANTED
Film Festival
Can you perform without a stage, without a mic, while wondering through
a crowded bar?
Perhaps it's you we are looking for!
Mountain Shorts is looking for two unique live acts to perform at their
inaugural short film festival in November.
The first act will be a soloist or a small group of musicians who will
add a mellow tone and a sense of occasion to the event. Artists whose
performances compliment the Art Deco setting of the Carrington Hotel are
encouraged to contact Mountain Shorts.
The other act is so unique we don't know what it is just yet but we do
know people will be talking about it long after the festival is over.
Send us your demo and short description of your
act to:
Mountain Shorts, PO Box 7183, Leura 2780.
Or contact us at: bmshortfilmfestival@gmail.com
for further information.
If you need your demo returned, please include cost of postage.

QUEER SCREEN
queerDOC06
The world’s only queer documentary film festival starts tonight
Opening Night, 7pm tonight at the Chauvel Cinema reveals how one record
producer, the creators of the original Hedwig and the Angry Inch and 70
huge names in indie rock, threw their hearts into a Hedwig tribute album
to raise funds for a controversial New York youth centre. The queerDOC
program peels back the leathers, takes on the music biz’s most homophobic
subculture, traces a history of homoeroticism and slips under the political
divide.
