HALF NELSON

2007 Best Actor Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling (The Notebook) stars as Dan Dunne, a Brooklyn high school teacher whose deviation from the standard
curriculum (into areas of politics, philosophy and life) makes him more
popular with his students than with the school's principal. But his troubled
personal life eventually begins to intrude on his career, and his secret is
discovered by one of his students (Shareeka Epps).

A powerful and ultimately inspiring story of friendship, this is independent
filmmaking at its best, with breakthrough performances from its two leads.

"Blasts out of the Hollywood comfort zone with brains, attitude and
blistering performances. Essential viewing!"
James King, BBC Radio

"No one who cares about quality acting will want to miss this"
Ruthe Stein, San Francisco Chronicle

Metro Screen and Palace films have double passes to the screening on Sunday 22 April at the Verona.

You’ll need to email Katrina with the subject ‘Half Nelson’ and be sure to include your full name, mail address [so we can send the passes to you] and of course your membership number. k.beck@metroscreen.org.au
