SEEKING INDIGENOUS ACTORS
Film Fear
SHOOT DATES | June 12, 13, 14, 15 & 18,
19, 20, 21
We are looking to cast four Indigenous roles in our film, which are paid
roles. Each role has different days required, which we can discuss in
more detail.
THE ROLES ARE:
Naya – in her 20s.
Murrhi – three month old baby.
Wudu – in his 40s.
Wurrunda – 25-30 years old. Additional Warrior – 25-35 years
old.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Set in the 1870s, Fear
is a subjective psychological drama about how fear manifests and the impact
it has. Our main character is a loving wife and mother but also someone
who wittingly causes a terrible tragedy. The strength of Fear lies not
only in its exploration of historical material, but also in the relevancy
of its themes to the present time. A human emotion as strong a fear can
encapsulate extremes ranging from love and protection, to distress and
tragedy. It is this emotional range that excites our team in bringing
the past to life, presenting it with a fresh outlook. In addition to the
impact of fear on everyday life and ordinary people, it is the interaction
between cultures that our team is eager to examine. The beauty of the
Australian landscape and the inherent dichotomy in its awe-inspiring allure
and danger is another crucial component we want to capture in Fear. The
strength of our team lies in our dedication to the physical and emotional
challenges explored in our film.

ROMULUS, MY FATHER
Popcorn Taxi
The story of ROMULUS, MY FATHER centres on a battered little migrant family,
and is set in the goldfields district of Victoria in the aftermath of
WW2. It is based on Raimond Gaita’s critically acclaimed memoir,
telling us the story of Romulus, his beautiful wife Christina, and their
struggle in the face of great adversity to bring up their son, Raimond.
It is the tale of a boy trying to balance a universe described by his
deeply moral father, against the experience of heartbreaking absence and
neglect from a depressive mother. It is, ultimately, a story of impossible
love that celebrates the unbreakable bond between father and son.
The film features an A-list cast with Eric Bana (CHOPPER, MUNICH, BLACK
HAWK DOWN) as Romulus and Franka Potente (THE BOURNE IDENTITY, RUN, LOLA,
RUN) as his wife Christina. Developed with director Richard Roxburgh over
seven years, ROMULUS, MY FATHER has been adapted for the screen by poet
and playwright Nick Drake. It is both Richard and Nick’s first feature
film as director and screenwriter. For ticket sales visit our website
