Jaspar is an old man who is employed to clear out deceased estates. While his strength fails to move large appliances and furniture he busies himself with the finer evidence of life left in the house. HUSBAND | Man in his twenties or thirties to play the devoted and tormented husband.

WOMAN | A woman in her twenties or thirties to play a domesticated housewife in the 1950s.

FORBIDDEN LIE$
Popcorn Taxi

Popcorn Taxi and Ozdox are proud to present a preview screening of FORBIDDEN LIE$, a feature length documentary thriller, about Author Norma Khouri and the people she has conned.

In July 2004, Norma Khouri, best-selling author of Forbidden Love, a book about an honour killing in Jordan, was exposed as a literary hoax. Spinning murder, politics, greed and literary scandal into a web that ensnares us all, FORBIDDEN LIE$ is a real-life thriller that will leave you with your jaw on the floor. Documentary film-maker Anna Broinowski unravels the intricate web of lies spun by Khouri in what is a gripping and irresistible journey full of on-screen confessions and audacious claims by the frauster.

The documentary is nominated for a 2007 AFI Award, and was rated in the top ten films at this years Hotdocs and Adelaide film festivals. After the screening, Filmmaker Anna Broinowski joins Mitzi Goldman on-stage for a discussion and audience Q session about the making of the film.

METRO SCREEN CONGRATULATES

AZURE PRODUCTIONS
Film in Palm Springs
‘Frail’, written and directed by Alex Murawski, has been selected to screen in the Palm Springs International Film Festival for Short Films. Produced by Annmaree J Bell graduate of Metro Screen’s Certificate IV in Screen course, ‘Frail’ was funded by the filmmakers and shot on 35mm. The B&W film tells the story of a family’s stark confrontation with death, which forces their shared frailties to be revealed. It stars Anne Looby (AFI winner), Maddi Newling (AFI nominee) and Courtney-Jane Polder and was shot by cinematographer Bonnie Elliott and edited by Adrian Rostirolla. ‘Frail’ is the second venture for Alex and Annmaree, their first being The Chess Set which won Frank Wilson the Best Actor award and Stuart Wagstaff the Best Supporting Actor for the New York International Film & Video Festival in 2005. The Palm Springs screening will be the film’s world premiere.

Congratulations to the filmmakers and to Azure Productions on this success.
